I destest them and their policies too

Good on her for telling it like it is

I know shes hated on mn, or rather on scotsnet. They prefer the tories there, christ knows why. Independence is a dirty word on scotsnet. So i know I'll be shot down, but i couldn't care less.

Good on you Nicola👍

I can’t stand Nicola and all she stands for….

CapMarvel · 10/10/2022 09:59

She's just saying what so many people think.

The tories are beyond help at this point and frankly anyone still supporting them needs their heads examined.

She's the first Minister of Scotland though it's not like she's just Nicola down the road stating her opinion ,there is a huge difference with a member of the general public stating their opinion and the First minister.
If she wants to. be taken seriously she needs to act like a politician

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 10/10/2022 10:14

Why haven’t you enabled voting?

beachcitygirl · 10/10/2022 10:15

Notatallanamechange · 10/10/2022 09:03

Nicola Sturgeon would be the first to be screaming in offence if a Tory dared say ‘I detest the SNP’. As hypocrites go, she’s one of the leading ones.

And I say that as someone who despised everything the Tory party stands for.

Except it's done regularly & she doesn't even comment. "Emily thornberry"

FamilyTreeBuilder · 10/10/2022 10:16

lot of women on this platform believe what the main stream media feeds them without employing critical thinking. The snp win in scotland because the majority of voters prefer the way they govern.

A lot of women on this platform live, work, raise kids and pay tax in Scotland and know EXACTLY what it's like living with the SNP.

beachcitygirl · 10/10/2022 10:16

EbbyEbs · 10/10/2022 09:44

But nobody cares what she thinks, I wish they would stop giving her air time personally. She’s completely irrelevant

And yet some wonder why Scots want to leave the union.
Your disdain for democracy drips from every word

An Scotland gets to spend an extra £2k a year for every man woman and child than they raise in taxes purely because they are part of the UK!

Emily thornberry, Boris et al have said similar (and in the case of Boris) far worse things.

I'd rather she was honest. It was obvious she was talking about the tory party and the current government, and frankly she was spot.

Pretty much.

If they do win the Indy ref they can fight internally - and no longer blame WM

Not going to be great, glad it will be contained to there - although feel very sorry for those who don’t want it

Inghean2 · 10/10/2022 10:24

I'm Scottish and I'm kind of on the fence about independence.
I'm not a staunch Nicola Sturgeon or SNP fan. Have voted SNP in some elections, and not in others. Didn't vote on independence.

However she is at least spending public money on those who need it most (as mentioned above, bedroom tax mitigation, extra child payments, free bus travel for young people), and for that I am happy.

The Tories are not spending tax payer's money on the public, they are siphoning it off to their rich cronies and ignoring the poorest most vulnerable in society. Vile, detestable, evil scumbags. They are ruining the UK.

I think it's right that SNP will join with Labour to get rid of Tories. I just pray they are gone next time.

I know tories only find shipping refugees to Rwanda humorous.

The rest of us employ our humour elsewhere. 😉

Yep, I do.

Fully support scottish independence. The SNP aren't perfect by any means but compared to the shower of absolute shite that have been in charge in Westminister they are absolute saints.

Plus Scottish independence does not mean an SNP government in perpetuity. It's a bigger issue than one party.

Do you feel sorry about the fact that Scotland didn't vote for Brexit and hasn't voted for a conservative government for over 50 years?

LookingAtYou · 10/10/2022 10:27

So she got all uppity about Trus saying she was an attention seeker and best ignored, wangs on about language being important in politics then says she 'detests Tories' Confused.

Imagine her handwringing if anyone in Westminster said that about the SNP.

beachcitygirl · 10/10/2022 10:27

@Fieldsofhay the extra £2k part would be cute if it were true. It's not, been disproven so so many times.
If you're referring to the block grant then I suggest you read about that (from a reputable source - ie not the daily Mail) and then get back to us with your correction.

newnamethanks · 10/10/2022 10:29

Water isn't free, you pay for it as part of your council tax.
And we pay more in income tax to support all these things.

In 2020-21, Scotland (including a geographical share of North Sea revenue) raised £62.8 billion in 2020-21, compared to £99.2 billion of public spending for Scotland

Do you feel sorry about the fact that Scotland didn't vote for Brexit and hasn't voted for a conservative government for over 50 years?

How is that different to millions of other voters in the UK who didn’t vote conservative or brexit? London a perfect example yet feeling the brunt of it more than anywhere. They were countrywide elections. We can’t be Scottish when it suits and not when it doesn’t?

Furthermore, 40% of Scotland DID vote for Brexit. Had they voted to remain, then the overall result would have been to remain. So thanks very much to all the Scottish voters who lumped that on the rest of the country. Now, you could apply the same logic to any other group of course, but let’s not pretend that we are holier than thou shall we?
