Anyone seen this? It’s apparently based on a policy from (far right) Hungary where the media were saying that too many women were going to university and thus wouldn’t be having kids!

It’s not the name of the policy, it’s been coined by a distasteful red top newspaper. Technically you could call the 30 free hours policy ‘bonk for Britain’. It’s all a load of rubbish.

Feminism has never really supported motherhood has it. Sad.

I mean it was published in The Sun and they sounds like a classic, tacky sun headline. Which is a lot more likely than it being an actual name for the policy.
But that would just be boring wouldn’t it.

There isn't enough existing people. Especially with the child rate going down rather than remaining stable. It won't work.

I really don't understand the argument of "Who will look after the ageing population?" against the discussion of over-population.

You are aware that over-population can only continue for so long until eventually resources will be depleted and society collapses?

The best solution to "who will look after the ageing population" is immigration, not continuing to increase the population until the inevitable collapse of society.

I think it's a terrible idea. The world needs fewer people, not more. It seems sick to me to not want foreigners here, but breeding the equivalent number of good British people is fine?!?!

Somehow I really don’t think this shitty far right government that we currently have is desperately concerned about the problem of brain drain in other countries! They are just a bunch of racists who don’t want any immigrants (see Bravermans Xmas dream of sending a plane load to Rwanda)

Although immigrants generally never seem to have the internal struggle of whether to reproduce or not. They just do if they want to. That's just aimed at British women who should, it would seem, be breeding themselves out of the gene pool. And the ageing population will get bigger as the immigrants here age. Who will be looking after them? The children that they have?

Many countries are much bigger than the UK and have much more capacity for resources thus they can reproduce at a bigger rate than us, so they will never be short of young workers.

Like where? And what if their young workers don’t want to come to the U.K.? Why do we always presume everyone wants to live here and it’s just a case of ‘letting’ them?

Oh so it is a case of British women stop breeding as the rest of the world have enough resources to support their elders back home, and their elders in the UK too then. How very selfish of British women to want to have children, when they should just stop now and let others have that joy of raising kids.

Huh? People will always be looking to migrate. The UK has an immigration surplus because there are more foreign workers wanting to come here than we are able to take in. So the issue of 'young workers not wanting to come here' isn't even an issue...?

The other issue is that this country is doing an appallingly bad job of looking after the children it does have with rapidly rising levels of child poverty - plenty of kids but getting a decent meal and living in dreadful conditions

And the existing population, British women, the ones that want to remain in their country, also want to have children. Why should British women stop having children because other places are over populated and many migrants also want to move here. Surely your no children message should be directed at the rest of the world. Not to people in a country whose birth rate is going down anyway.
