Cleaner then you probably have time to be doing your cleaning yourself. Find myself a bit bewildered by the complaints about cleaners on here. Not really a problem in the the true sense of the word IMO. Is your purse also too small for your £50s and are your diamond shoes too tight? (thank you Chandler! )

Tortington · 27/01/2008 22:33

mumsnet has persuaded me to have a cleaner. and i am sure that one day in the fuure i shall consider it a good investment in my time

Carmenere · 27/01/2008 22:33

Ha this has just reminded me that my dads family had maids (as they were known) that lived in the spare room that were actually orphaned relatives who had no other way of supporting themselves
This was in pre social welfare days and they were doing their family duty so to speak, glad times have changed

pointydog · 27/01/2008 22:34

I rthink it is poss to pay people to cok for you

Hey Pointy- not only are they all the things we mentioned but I think they may be witches- shortly after my last post I accidently (long story) put my foot through a glass topped coffee table and wound up in a&e having eleven stiches. Lots of pain at mo-I think there is a link!!!!!!

nortynamechanger · 28/01/2008 14:28

cook

Janni · 28/01/2008 14:41

Vacua - I care for three children and do my own housework. There is precious little luxury in my life.

pointydog · 28/01/2008 16:55

hell's bells, ruff. What on earth are you playing at. sounds serious

pointydog · 28/01/2008 16:56

I preferred the idea of getting someone to cock, though

Amethyst8 · 28/01/2008 19:09

Exactly my thoughts pointydog. Would all that time spent stewing on your latest Cleaner crisis not be better employed elsewhere? ie in oh I dont know....actually cleaning if you care that much about it. Personally I am also having problems with my own Cleaner. She would rather be on MN posting about how people whinge about their cleaners and/or watching far too many re runs of Friends .

I shall start a thread complaining about my cocker

kerala · 28/01/2008 21:05

What an odd OP. Whats the difference between complaining about a cleaner, or about say, a taxi driver, butcher, dustman or anyone who is paid to do things for you?

Abit of inverted snobbery going it seems.

harpsichordcarrier · 28/01/2008 21:09

I certainly have the time to do my own cleaning.
I do not, however, have the inclination.
the moment I have the ££ I will pay someone to do it.
and I won't give a flying carrot what anyone else thinks about it

kerala · 28/01/2008 21:33

Quite right HC

Admit I treat myself to a 3 hour cleaning session every other week from a lovely cleaner. And am an SAHM so am very wicked - shoot me now! But would rather be playing in the park with dd than changing bedsheets.

Although must say my cleaner is baby mad (her children are grown up and in the Polish army) so it often happens that she gets to cuddle dd while I clean.

pointydog · 28/01/2008 22:38

by 'eck, me cocker's reet filthy. How I like him

mrsruffallo · 29/01/2008 11:07

LOL Pointy-I pay mine to cock for me for an hour but sometimes he slinks off after 45 minutes!!! Does anyone know where I can find an honest cocker?
