To question my DH about the bizarre items ive found?

I've been away for work, I have come back to find items that certainly aren't mine, some quite bizarre things. A top, pink nail clippers, womens razor, small makeup pallete, all things that don't belong to me. My DD had also said to me on face time when I was away that DH was talking to a lady in the shower on the phone (she is only 5) so I didn't question her I just left it.
He also keeps checking my phone when I'm not in the room which is adding to my suspicion as that isnt normal behaviour for him.
I feel a bit silly really, it's a few random items but I know they do not belong to me and i feel like hes being weird. I'm not sure now if I'm over thinking or if I should genuinely ask him who the fuck the pink nail clippers belong to 😳😂AIBU to ask or am I being a twat? How do I go forward with this? Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm a size 8, the top is a 14.
Makeup pallete is a Nyx eyeshadow one.
Hes due home around 2.

You know the rules with mumsnet, photo or it didn't happen. 🤣

Who the fuck brings nail clippers and a lady razor to their lovers house?

Exactly!

One earring or a hair clip is a sign of him cheating or even cross dressing.

Nail clippers and a razor definitely isn’t!

What does the top look like?
Can you post a photo?

I don't know - you'd probably want to shave your pits if you were staying at your boyfriends for more than a couple of days

I'm assuming he doesn't have a sister who might have babysat?

OP you haven't said what you're going to do when he gets home. I'd suggest be as non-chalant and non-accusatory as possible, so you don't spook him or encourage him to hide his tracks.

If I were you, I'd ask about one of the items first. For example, "I found some pink nail clippers in the shower, they're not mine. Do you know where they came from?" then see how he tries to worm his way out of it.

Riapia · 03/10/2022 13:29

If the items don’t belong to you or your DD it’s proper mystery.
You may never find the answer. 🤭🤭

poltergeist?

TimeAtTheBar · 03/10/2022 13:29

It’s an affair and she wants you to know.

She’s put the top in your drawer and the other stuff lying around to mark her territory.

Bunce1 · 03/10/2022 13:30

Cross dressing is my guess. Maybe talking to others online/virtually form a community.

He has been careless with leaving the things out as deep down he wants you to know.

I used to take my razor and toothbrush out with me when I was young in case I pulled 😁.

MumofSpud · 03/10/2022 13:31

Could it be that he got somebody round to help with the children whilst you were away as he couldn't cope and was too embarrassed to tell you?!

Choconut · 03/10/2022 13:31

cooolio · 03/10/2022 13:08

He's had her there while you've been away and your 5 year old overheard her talking in the bathroom. That's horrible.

She wants you to find these things and she's told him if he doesn't tell you about her then she will. That's why he keeps checking your phone, he's hoping to intercept her message.

Would the top fit him? If not then see above ☝

JestersTear · 03/10/2022 13:32

I have to say it doesn't sound good, and the fact that the top was 'hidden' in your drawer does sound as though it's another woman, who wanted you to know that she was there.
The items are clever too and hidden in plain sight. Being sexist here but a man is unlikely to notice that they're there but a woman would notice, as you have done, as they are not yours. Sneaky.

Snowberry3 · 03/10/2022 13:32

Why did she use the guest room ensuite?

Unless they'd had sweaty sex and he was in the ensuite to your room and she used the other one.

How did 5 year old know about the conversation with a woman - obviously it wasn't Grandma or a voice she recognised and obviously it was a loud/ suspicious/ odd conversation as she noticed it in the first place.

ohthehorrorthehorror · 03/10/2022 13:34

Wise up OP, someone is leaving huge, obvious clues for you to find.

Lay them all out and gauge his response when he sees them. You don’t even have to accuse him, just ask him what he knows about them.

Itsbritneybitch22 · 03/10/2022 13:36

Notanotherwindow · 03/10/2022 13:25

I wouldn't even give him the chance to try and lie tbh. Just as soon as he walks in, ask What is her name and how long has it been going on? And if it had been going on with our child in the house I'd wipe the floor with him.

@Notanotherwindow

Yea exactly this.

There’s something in this. My DH would never recognise those type of items as not being mine.

Noteverybodylives · 03/10/2022 13:37

Scarlettpixie · 03/10/2022 13:37

It does sound like a woman has planted the items wanting you to find out. Items left in the ensuite might at a push be explained to be belonging to a family member or babysitter (or him dabbling with shaving or makeup) but noone has accidentally left their top in your drawer or make up among your personal things. Also he was talking to a woman in the shower!

You are not being unreasonable. I hope you are ok.

This is what i was thinking. His mother or sister?

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 03/10/2022 13:39

I’m not sure DH would know where my tops go, but it’s conceivable he might put laundry away if I was away for a week. He definitely wouldn’t give it too much thought.

FlowersareEverything · 03/10/2022 13:40

Aye, there’s nothing worse than when this happens

AgathaX · 03/10/2022 13:40

I hope you get to the bottom of it.

Chikapu · 03/10/2022 13:41

Why are people asking for a pic of the top? Do they think they'll recognise it and nail Stacey from work as his side piece?
