The latest in the ongoing saga is that JM has left Twitter after being 'hounded off'. The incident that seemed to provoke this...someone critiquing a photo of her mums roast potatoes. It just gets more and more bizarre.

To be clear, I don't like to see public pile ons and some of the abuse directed at Jack has been unpleasant. But a lot has also been reasonable, polite requests for information regarding her patreon which have largely been totally ignored. And her supporters have to be some of the most cruel people on Twitter. It seems like it's fine for JM to voice her opinion but as soon as others do the same they are called out for bullying. And ironically subjected to vile comments from her followers. Go figure.

Am I the only one who thinks she's probably best having a little Twitter break? But eventually if she's ever to redeem her reputation she needs to show some transparency regarding public donations.

And into my mind - no idea where from - popped the memory of her tweet about David Cameron's little boy, who died she'd 6. Accusing him of using a 'misty eyed rhetoric' about his 'dead son' to flog the NHS

No matter what your politics, that struck me as beyond the pale really. And it cost her well paid jobs .. Sainsbury's dropped her like a hot (roast?) potato and I think even the guardian distanced themselves

So this is someone who has had SO many opportunities. Loads. High profile writing jobs, TV work, big brand partnerships.

And she loses them all because she is a loose cannon. And not in a 'at least she's saying what most of us are thinking' kind of way. No, in a vile idiotic way

She just did that on Instagram couple of days ago. She loves a good pile on!

She really does seem to, so it's hard to feel sorry for her when she claims she's "bullied" and "harassed" online.

I daresay she does get nasty messages, but the ones she showed recently in a screenshot didn't seem on the level she claimed they were, and then going after someone who says your mum's potatoes look dire is just weird.

And - as I'm on a roll - look at fluffydogs95 on Instagram. She definitely shows JM in a lie

Sorry but the parody Twitter account is hilarious

I agree

I ditched Twitter ages ago. Can someone share some screenshots?

I don't think I've ever seen a FB customer/previous customer say they received a JM book. Has anyone else?

I have - I was one of the crowdfunders for her “Cooking on a Bootstrap” book (you know, the one that was not going to be available anywhere else but was later for sale for less on Amazon).

it took forever but it did turn up in the end. I’d completely given up hope of it ever arriving and forgotten all about it, so it was something of a surprise Grin

"Hoops for Troops" 😂😂😂😂😂

Againstmachine · 04/10/2022 21:00

She has found a new platform but she really needs to stop.

I have my doubts she is or ever has been poor, it's just a niche to her and she doesn't care about the poor only about herself.

By all reports she actually really wasn't. Except few months on benefits when there are lots of raised eyebrows about why did her family let them starve... Her family is well off

The 'hoops for troops' has just about done me in Grin

She's been really snarky with a few on Instagram.

One follower asked her how she could afford a specialised groomer for her dog .. he'd donated £50 to her previously

She responded with 'eating tinned spaghetti babes'

which is QUITE the burn 🔥

The dog is another inconsistency in her story.

She bought the dog either just before or just after she wrote the blog post saying she was so poor she had to unscrew her lightbulbs, couldn't afford shampoo, was selling her possessions and feeds herself and her son on £20 a week.

Someone living in that level of poverty does not buy an expesive dog.

Apparently, the dog is fed on smart price chicken breast and brown rice so eats better than her son.

InCheesusWeTrust · 04/10/2022 23:49

feeds herself and her son on £20 a week.

I fed my husband and I on fiver last week.

Anyone can do smart top up shop.....

category12 · 05/10/2022 07:17

Yes, and she argued back so hard about it somehow not being a top-up shop despite agreeing she was bulking it up with things she had at home.

It's just so useless and self serving, and doesn't help the message she supposedly has. You can feed a family generously on 20 quid, she claims. ODFOD. Totally plays into the hands of the people who say there's no food poverty.

I look forward to more incredibly useful and gourmet advice such as blending burgers and washing spaghetti hoops. 🙄

ChocChipOwl · 05/10/2022 20:40

My favourite was the vegan (ish) phase

Always tricky to pull that one off when you're also a meat eater. You're trying to appeal to a small section of your audience who may be puzzled why the next recipe you're sharing feature mince.

And as a vegan, (not a weird one) her recipes didn't entice me. They did make me lol though. Along with some peach curry monstrosity

I can’t even tell if you’re being serious or not 😂

FKATondelayo · 06/10/2022 10:42

Totally serious.

I hope the first tip in the book will be: save electricity by hand rinsing your spaghetti hoops instead of putting in them in the dishwasher.

Ha, what's her hair like in that picture?! Really moving away from the "edgy" look. Nigella, Nigella, lend me some hair.
