to think that I really can't be the only person who hadnt noticed this?!

Years of owning a smartphone, years of using my clock app for timers, alarms etc and YESTERDAY I realised that the app button on my homescreen shows the actualy time and not just a stylised picture of a clock!

I noticed it and thought "Oh its 4pm and its on 4pm...what a coincidence" in that way you do when the time is 12:34 or 12:21 or whatever. Nothing particularly interesting, you just notice it.

Then a couple of hours later it was showing ten past six....blew my mind!

The one that hit me when I discovered it (on iPhone - don't know if android is the same) is that if you turn the calculator app into landscape it changes to a scientific calculator.

Now that one I did know <smug look>

I just couldn't remember a single thing I'd need one for 🤦🏻‍♀️ Mind you, my A levels are older than most of you! & I don't think I've used one since 😂

Here’s one for you car owners. Near the petrol gauge on your car is a petrol pump logo. Beside it should be an arrow. The arrow points to the side of your car where the petrol cap is - useful for hire cars etc.

Yeah, but that's fish & chip wrapping (and it's not always there/correct).

mind you, everytime it comes up on MN there are still people who don't know!!

Sometimes mumsnet is a bit yikes and sometimes it is everything! Feeling a similar feeling to when I found out you can FOLD UP THE JUMPEROO.

I'm quite thrown too

people thought the clock on their phone wasn't a clock. Confusing.

I can imagine there will be a number of posts re this - am surprised I’ve never seen it come up on there. Or, maybe not, given the amount of responses here!

I have a Samsung phone with I think the latest version of Android. I appear to have two clock apps. Neither have icons that display the correct time.

So maybe someone needs to clarify which clock app they are talking about.

I have an iPhone and didn’t know this, only because I never use the clock app and it’s hidden away. Just checked it now and the icon is about 20 minutes behind

I KNOW! I found out several years too late, someone had shared a video of a woman very simply unclipping somethings underneath the frame then she folded it up and carried it off! Video must he somewhere. This was about 7 years ago though...jumperoo technology may have progressed ..
