to think that I really can't be the only person who hadnt noticed this?!

Years of owning a smartphone, years of using my clock app for timers, alarms etc and YESTERDAY I realised that the app button on my homescreen shows the actualy time and not just a stylised picture of a clock!

I noticed it and thought "Oh its 4pm and its on 4pm...what a coincidence" in that way you do when the time is 12:34 or 12:21 or whatever. Nothing particularly interesting, you just notice it.

Then a couple of hours later it was showing ten past six....blew my mind!

iPhone version. Calendar is correct. Not sure the weather icon changes though

I did not know this.

Mine is an hour fast tho. I wonder if it'll change when the clocks go back.

I knew this. But I have an iPhone and the clock ‘icon’ really is very much a clock, whereas the picture @Crunchymum shared does look more like an icon, if that makes sense, so not sure I’d have realised if mine looked like that. Here’s how it looks on the iPhone

It is a lot more obvious on the iPhone, mine is the same icon that a PP posted so maybe thats why it took me so long to notice!

Google calendar has 31 on it. Either it's a time traveller or it's no as clever.

@thesunwillout if you go to settings and time you may have it set to a different time zone.
I must have accidentally deleted my clock - have just re added which will make life a lot easier- thanks op

Mine doesn't for the clock or calendar. Nokia android phone.

I’m the other way round - same pictures as @waterlego .
I knew it was a clock because it says “Clock” underneath it.

It took me some time to realise that clicking on it took me to a stopwatch, timer alarm and so on.

Sorry. I have no picture of a clock. Mines digital. And a Samsung. But I had spotted that it told me the time. My dedicated Samsung cover ALSO tells me the time. I'm 65 if that's any help. But I have to know that for myself as my phone doesn't tell me.

Believe it or not, I do not spend my time trying to complete the internet and so no.....as a 50 year old woman who doesnt spend her life on Youtube, I didnt know that!

I didn’t need to ‘complete the internet’ as it’s in several places. I’m 43 and can’t remember the last time I looked at YouTube.

I feel so much better that I wasnt the only person in the world who didnt know this!

I didnt dare ask the kids, I couldnt bear the eye-rolling when my stupidity was inevitably confirmed!
