to think that I really can't be the only person who hadnt noticed this?!

Years of owning a smartphone, years of using my clock app for timers, alarms etc and YESTERDAY I realised that the app button on my homescreen shows the actualy time and not just a stylised picture of a clock!

I noticed it and thought "Oh its 4pm and its on 4pm...what a coincidence" in that way you do when the time is 12:34 or 12:21 or whatever. Nothing particularly interesting, you just notice it.

Then a couple of hours later it was showing ten past six....blew my mind!

The one that hit me when I discovered it (on iPhone - don't know if android is the same) is that if you turn the calculator app into landscape it changes to a scientific calculator.

to think that I really can't be the only person who hadnt noticed this?!

On my Samsung it does but on my Alcatel (spare phone) it doesn't.

The weather icon also shows the current weather conditions in your location and the calendar icon shows the date!

Ohh, I didn’t realise this either! Have now moved the calendar app out of a folder so I can stop guesstimating the date - doh!

Sorry. I have no picture of a clock. Mines digital. And a Samsung. But I had spotted that it told me the time. My dedicated Samsung cover ALSO tells me the time. I'm 65 if that's any help. But I have to know that for myself as my phone doesn't tell me.

Add yourself as a contact and you can add your birthday and the calendar will remind you 😀Or you can have a birthday countdown app.

I recently discovered this too! I thought it was cool aswell and posted it on Facebook as there was no one else home and was met with tumbleweeds lol that's why I don't bother posting much, just embarrass myself

Bloody hell! I’ve had an iPhone since forever and I’m also reasonably techy. How it possible I’ve never noticed this until now?? The little red second hand is moving as well!

Very sad to discover none of my icons do anything like this. Clock is right twice a day - at a symmetrical ten past ten; calendar says 31 - there isn't even a 31st in this month. Very much cheated here.

Every day’s a school day! I did know the calendar showed today’s date but never noticed the clock.
