24th September - dooms day... what?!

So we are currently away on holiday, just spoken to friends back home who asked if we had heard about this viral 'news' (I put that lightly)

Apparently on 24th September, there is going to be a large, catastrophic world event in which everybody will remember exactly where we are and what we were doing at that exact moment.

Does anybody else know anything about this?! Maybe I'm just blissfully unaware!

Been reading there is a very large volcano in New Zealand that might erupt soon.

Even if that happened it wouldn't affect most of NZ, let alone the world. I have lived through so many doomsday predictions in my lifetime already, I think I'll get through this one too.

I can’t tell you how many predicted apocalyptic events I have lived through. Started with the 1999 eclipse, then 09/09/99…..still here!

Then when it (obviously) didn’t happen all those predicting it either went silent or were clambering around to try and explain how they’ve redone the calculations and it must now be X date. 🤭🤣

I don’t know why humans are like this, may be we just love the drama 😆

As far as I know we can’t predict the future yet so I wouldn’t worry.

🤣 But why this year? There’s been lots of 24th Septembers since this episode 🤔

BashfulClam Yes I remember that one ! DM was sure it was the end of the world.We had a party ,and DM was so worried we would not see it,Richard Madeley said on This Morning it wasnt true ,Mum was so relieved (Big fan of RM you see!)

Well...my little province is expecting Hurricane Fiona tonight and tomorrow. There's dire news about it everywhere and I'm getting panicked! I'm hoping and praying it's similar to all the other weather related dire warnings we received throughout the year where nothing happened but I imagine we'll get something.

I'm really hoping it doesn't become something the world will remember!

Wasn’t domesday when William 1 thought up a canny idea for raising money via taxes. Didn’t we have a so-called budget today when the well off get a huge tax break funded by the peasants. Plus ca change🤗
