24th September - dooms day... what?!

So we are currently away on holiday, just spoken to friends back home who asked if we had heard about this viral 'news' (I put that lightly)

Apparently on 24th September, there is going to be a large, catastrophic world event in which everybody will remember exactly where we are and what we were doing at that exact moment.

Does anybody else know anything about this?! Maybe I'm just blissfully unaware!

Animals get raptured? Don't you have to be a self-declared 'saved' Evangelist? This looks like a problem to me but I expect Believers have an explanation.

Did anyone hear a story about a Christian group in US who believed in the rapture and thought that on a certain date they would all ascend? So, a local guy offered to look after their pets for a few and locked them into a lifetime contract.

He made a fortune.

But only a few, because most believed that their rabbits and ‘pupsters’ would be raptured with them.

In fact, there’s a hell specifically for people who say ‘pupsters’.

I saw on FB yesterday that some Christians in the USA believed that Rapture would occur on 25 September. Looks like we dodged 2 bullets.

Its twenty past eight and I have just come up from my cellar where I have been sheltering all night in preparation. Its dark outside so the sun has disappeared but incredibly the internet is still working. Has anyone ventured out yet?

Well, it was yesterday. I had a completely ordinary Saturday. So if anything catastrophic happened... I'm afraid I missed it!

Escape from reality?

Open your eyes, look up to the skies and seeeeeeeee....

I had the worst day I’ve had in 10 years by a country mile (and that’s saying something because my life is famously pretty shite).

Not exactly a huge world event as it only really affects me, but it’s not a date I’ll forget in a hurry so that bit’s right.

Hope you are ok x 💐

Still here!
Tell your friend they're an idiot.

The worst thing that happened was the smoothie place took it upon themselves to heat up my smoothie?! I guess because it is a cold morning and thought people would want them hot.
It has protein powder and something else when heated turns it into a semi solid mess. Tried eating it with a spoon to see if it even tasted ok. No, it tasted like a slimy fake choc custard. Blech.

Years ago, I came across a blog proclaiming the end of the world on a very exact date, a couple of monrhs away. Let’s say it was September 24th, 2010. The blog had hundreds, maybe thousands, of followers, many of whom were Reporting Signs of the End Times - clouds shaped like an angel, image of Lucifer on over-grilled pitta bread, family cat reading tne Bible - and there was much discussion as to which high place to
go unto for best Rapture reception.

So obviously I signed up, simply to see what would happen there on September 25th 2010, in the unlikely event of the world not ending.

Which, you may have noticed, it didn’t.

So I signed in, unraptured, on the morning after, and there was no word from the blogger, though a lot of perplexity from followers. Not much anger - just puzzlement.

A few days later, the blogger appeared. He explained that the world had in fact ended - on a spiritual level. He was sure we’d all felt it. It was seismic. It had completely taken him out for a week. He could now reveal that the physical end of the world - which was a solid-gone inevitability - would take place on March 17th 2011.

And all the followers let out a huge sigh of relief and nodded a lot and apologised for having got hold of the wrong end of the stick. They reckoned that this explained why they’d felt so weepy and sensitive on 24th. So that proved it. And our black cat had three ginger kittens - it’s a sign.

Did you all get the memo? The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse got delayed - leaves on the line, or something. Doomsday postponed.

If it's going to be a day to remember it needs to hurry up as the red wine is flowing and I won't remember whatever happens soon!!

Yes! 🍷🍾😂

24 Sept your time or my time? It's 11.15am 25 Sept in sunny Sydney Australia and once again I think I may have drunk, ate and slept through a catastrophic event

Well if it’s doomsday no one gonna be here to remember it so………..

That's what I said to my teenager early today when he mentioned today was supposed to be doomsday 😁
Also pointed out that people have been spouting out random dates as "the end is nigh" for years and I remember 2012 for example and that was 10 years ago 🙄😁
