24th September - dooms day... what?!

So we are currently away on holiday, just spoken to friends back home who asked if we had heard about this viral 'news' (I put that lightly)
Apparently on 24th September, there is going to be a large, catastrophic world event in which everybody will remember exactly where we are and what we were doing at that exact moment.
Does anybody else know anything about this?! Maybe I'm just blissfully unaware!

well let’s think about this logically, if Putin was going to blow up the world he wouldn’t put it in his diary and let us all know about it. If a New Zealand volcano was going to blow, again, it wouldn’t choose to do it on a particular day. And so on and so on.

You'd think someone would give us odds of it happening - I've had my shopping delivered today and have to decide whether to eat chocolate fudge cake, cherry pie and 6 fairy cakes (plus the rest of the packet of yum yums) tomorrow or whether to save some for after the end of the world. If it ended in the afternoon that would help - I could finish them off for breakfast and get the kitchen cleaned as planned - but a morning apocalypse would be very inconvenient. Unless of course as a PP suggested, it was only in Japan. Decisions, decisions.

This date has been going around Tik Tok for about a week now. Apparently Princess Diana was going to be making a comeback 🙄 I've hid all the Russia/Nuclear videos and hash tags because it terrifies me but I imagine they will now be saying we are going to he nuked on that day.
