For those following this existing thread: www.mumsnet.com/talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/4635864-tradesperson-inviting-people-into-my-home?page=1 aka the tale of the fluffy blanket and the dodgy electrics thread, it continues here.

Nothing new to add at the moment though, but the previous thread is almost at capacity.

You just needed to add "the wee donkey" and you'd have perfected the Line of Duty reenactment. Well done OP. Very entertaining.

SalviaOfficinalis · 23/09/2022 21:56

Thank you for updating!
Glad you got the satisfaction of him squirming and a little money off the bill. He might feel so awkward on his way home that he knocks a bit more off the invoice.

Cool story bro

🤣 my thoughts exactly!

NaTTate · 23/09/2022 21:57

I think you handled the whole thing really well OP - clear headed, assertive but dignified. The way I'd like to handle it if it was me in the situation, but probably wouldn't manage to. I hope he's got a sense of shame about it, but it does make you wonder how many other homes he's done similar in.

Great job OP, I think you handled it great! He must be SO mortified.

(I still think they were shagging in your out-house tho!!)

I find it quite satisfying!

Puffalicious · 23/09/2022 21:59

Why accuse the OP of making it up? Sheesht! I was once accused of making a story up which absolutely happened, and it really, really pissed me off. Seems MN wouldn't buy the fact that I helped another woman that I didn't know & was worried about her. 🙄

HannaHanna · 23/09/2022 21:59

LadyCluck · 23/09/2022 22:02

Excellently handled OP. Well done. 👍

U1sce · 23/09/2022 22:03

Ohh well done OP! What a charlatan

Keroppi · 23/09/2022 22:04

Omg. what's in her hand !!

Youaremysunshine14 · 23/09/2022 22:04

That pic is waaaayy too identifiable, OP, plus posting a pic of someone engaging in sexual activity without their consent is an offence under the new revenge porn laws. Considering you've had papers reporting on your thread and there are reporters waiting for an update, you are really stupid posting this for them to grab.

birder · 23/09/2022 22:05

Sounds as though you handled it like an ex copper OP, so sounds odd to some.

Well handled op but I would have wanted to pay for less days he completely acted unprofessionally and breached your trust never mind lying about it all. I would have been livid.

Cj19877 · 23/09/2022 22:08

Well done OP! Hopefully he'll think twice before being that unprofessional again.

Moveoverdarlin · 23/09/2022 22:08

BOOM! Get back in the police force OP. That read like an interrogation scene from Line of Duty. In my head I’m imagining you looking like Kate Fleming. (Vicky MCClure’s character).
