Petition has reached nearly 50,000 signatures now and more people seem to be signing it every few seconds 😮

I wonder if or how ITV are going to respond to the petition. It seems Phil and Holly are not as popular as they used to be.

That's not a lot of people compared to the numbers that watch - and I bet most of those voting are not viewers anyway...

I was listening to lbc radio with Shelagh Fogerty yesterday and I was surprised when she admitted she would have jumped that queue if she had been given a pass for any reason to do so. She strikes me as someone who plays by the rules usually as well!
I understand the politicians etc etc doing it from a security point of view considering what has happened to MPs out and about in the past :(

That's it they are on everything, it's same as the line of duty cast they are on every drama on whatever Channel.

Same presenters and actors is boring, TV companies need to take risks.

100% this! I hope PS at least loses some of his lucrative advertising deals. The We Jump Any Queue meme surely makes a least that gig now untenable. It was such an ill judged thing to do. I can’t understand why nobody at TM was able to foresee this backlash.

Interesting piece I read on a gossipy type site that the reason Holly is getting so much heat and PS relatively little, is that PS’s “talent agency” also reps Ant and Dec, Rylan etc and that if PS isn’t protected all of their talent on all Tv shows will not toe the line/stay etc
Holly used to belong to the same agency but left and sued them successfully. I wonder if this is true. It certainly occurred to me that PS is barely mentioned in articles about this whole debacle whereas Holly is the focus of all the speculation.

I think as others have pointed out it’s almost nothing to do with the queue anymore. Realistically if it was to make the video they used at the start of this morning and they were going with producers etc, could they have stood in a 12 hour queue first? They probably could have but when the crew maybe has other commitments it’s probably not totally possible. I think they’ve been offered a queue jump and taken it thinking no one would think twice about it and to be fair until everyone realised Beckham had queued, I don’t think anyone cared. Loads of politicians did the exact same thing, what was to stop them queuing? They’re all just lying low now in the hope no one releases a video of them queue jumping! So it was a bit of poor judgment but certainly not the worst thing anyone’s done, Phillip has done worse to his wife before and didn’t get a petition about him then 🙈 I think this is bound to mentally affect them both though to be getting so much public hate when they were once well liked. I do feel a bit bad for them. You do kind of have to think of the whole ‘be kind’ thing. People just love to be annoyed at someone these days and will sign a petition about anything

Which OAPs and disabled people were in the VIP queue??

Also those disabled people and OAPs knowingly joined an insanely long queue and did so of their own free will. P&H had a job to do, and don’t necessarily have the time to piss around waiting to do it

I think the issue is that Pholly - as I like to call them - generally come across as a bit smug and patronising. I think that Holly has been dragged into P’s mire of having “come out” in a “stunningly, brave” way whereas not only did we all know that he was gay but also it quickly became apparent that he had possibly had a deeply inappropriate and exploitative work relationship with a much younger man. Holly was no doubt dragged into it by the powers that be, but for the viewers it was seen as contemptible and colluding with something that should have been called out.

I don’t have strong feelings about Holly but Philip is just awful. Unfortunately for her they are lumped together and his unpopularity reflects on her.

Undoubtedly they did queue jump. Should they be sacked for that? No, but what we see playing out here is their unpopularity I think rather than the queue jumping per se.

Yes I agree that they've become unpopular and they do seem a permanent fixture on TV. which I think frustrates viewers. I wasn't impressed with PS coming out publicly on the show the way he did. It felt insensitive to his wife and kids I thought. Holly appears to collude and they are very much a working duo now. It's true that they're unpopular and the queue incident can be used to give them the push.

It's funny how she can consider others below her as she is incredibly tacky and vacuous so really not much of a height to look down from. It's always the vacuous ones who consider themselves above others 😁probably due to said vacuousness, bless.
