Lots of comments about Holly W supposedly saying she’s going to quit This Morning..do you think she will, why? Would that be a good move?

OP posts:

@GoingOnce She really doesn't. I suspect she looks a little bit puffy because she's been very upset. That would be my guess anyway, but she really doesn't look as though she's had fillers. Not that that's really the issue here though!

I don't think being upset makes your lower face puffy. It's only relevant because some suggested that the face mask she was wearing was in an effort to not be so easily recognised.

MorningAfterAnxiety · 21/09/2022 15:19

@puttingontheritz but she was being filmed outside afterwards without a mask. Didn't look strange to me at all. Regarding the puffiness, I can get very puffy all over my face if I've not slept well, cried a lot or had too much salt. I honestly don't think she's had fillers.

@ancientgran Oh please. Just because you have a vagina doesn't exempt you from criticism.

PS has had his fair share of vitriol thrown at him too, and many are calling him out also on this thread.

I do agree that the OP should have named them both in the title and post though.

Really people need to come on and make snarky comments about fillers, what sort of clothes she wears etc. That has got nothing to do with the subject, just women putting a woman down. What's it got to do with anyone on here if a woman spends her own money on herself? Any of the judgemental want to put their hands up and say they've never paid for a hair do, make up, skin products?

Totally agree @ancientgran

Hos forbid a woman wants to look nice and not turn dowdy and beige the moment she hits 35

balalake · 21/09/2022 17:52

I hope the show ends. A long way past it's sell by date in my opinion.

purfectpuss · 21/09/2022 18:03

The trouble with Phil and Holly is that they have become too successful - the British public love to build people up and then tear them down again!

lollipoprainbow · 21/09/2022 18:24

She's had it good for too long now with her charmed life. The press have built her up and now they are tearing her down. I see the utter twat piers Morgan is now defending them.

Successful? No I don’t think so. A bit embarrassing to have this on your CV I would expect. Neither have anywhere to go from here.

Ladybyrd · 21/09/2022 18:37

It's probably reverse psychology.

RoseGoldEagle · 21/09/2022 18:42

I always wonder where the playground bullies go when they’re grown up and no longer dare bully people to their faces. Threads like this remind me! Some vile comments on here.

What outcome do people want?

I think some people won’t be happy until HW self-flagellates in the street by the sounds of it.

They didn’t even do anything wrong, it was a fucking queue that they didn’t join FFS

puttingontheritz · 21/09/2022 19:13

Perhaps people will be happy when they see the news report they filmed. ITV could have solved this by showing it sooner.

Doeshethinkhesinpeakyblinders · 21/09/2022 19:37

@puttingontheritz Is there one? Wouldn’t they have shown it by now 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lifeispassingby · 21/09/2022 19:47

Oh wow I’m actually shocked with some of the comments on here. Regardless of whether HW will read it or not, it’s just encourages such awful things to be said. Caroline Flack didn’t read social media or mums either I’m sure but she was aware of the feeling about her. I really can’t believe people have nothing better to think about than to get angry about this enough to take to social media or demand they resign, how sad

puttingontheritz · 21/09/2022 19:47

I assume there's a film, if they were there for work?

Doeshethinkhesinpeakyblinders · 21/09/2022 20:43

@puttingontheritz So did I, but has it been shown? It would have already, surely

They showed it at the very start of the programme yesterday - it was accompanied by Holly's voiceover that said categorically they didn't skip the queue but could see how it looked that way.

Picoloangel · 21/09/2022 20:51

I think the issue is that Pholly - as I like to call them - generally come across as a bit smug and patronising. I think that Holly has been dragged into P’s mire of having “come out” in a “stunningly, brave” way whereas not only did we all know that he was gay but also it quickly became apparent that he had possibly had a deeply inappropriate and exploitative work relationship with a much younger man. Holly was no doubt dragged into it by the powers that be, but for the viewers it was seen as contemptible and colluding with something that should have been called out.

I don’t have strong feelings about Holly but Philip is just awful. Unfortunately for her they are lumped together and his unpopularity reflects on her.

Undoubtedly they did queue jump. Should they be sacked for that? No, but what we see playing out here is their unpopularity I think rather than the queue jumping per se.

Chloefairydust · 21/09/2022 21:11

Petition has reached nearly 50,000 signatures now and more people seem to be signing it every few seconds 😮

I wonder if or how ITV are going to respond to the petition. It seems Phil and Holly are not as popular as they used to be.

Doeshethinkhesinpeakyblinders · 21/09/2022 21:14

Does a petition like that carry any weight?

Chloefairydust · 21/09/2022 21:20

I think it depends on how many people sign it, but I’m not sure how it works. Public opinion has to matter for something though.

Lndnmummy · 21/09/2022 21:22

Its ridiculous. Complete witch hunt. I don't why the British media/public do this time and time again. Build up and then tear down.

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 21/09/2022 22:01

It's been a while coming. "Spin the wheel for your energy bills" was one of the most appalling things I have ever seen on TV. Like something out of the hunger games. Maybe their brand has soured with people as a result of that.
