Ok, so this will probably get called a stealth boast, and maybe it is a bit, but I am so delighted that I have to tell someone!

It has been a shitty week. Expensive and seemingly never-ending house maintenance problems, work stress, dd's exam stress, worries and frustrations about an elderly relative etc.

I stayed in the office late this evening to get some work done. DH is overseas at the moment so it is just me and 17yo dd at home. I knew I would be coming home to an empty house because dd had a party to go to. All fine.

I just got home and she has tidied the whole house from top to bottom. Shock Hoovered upstairs and down, wiped surfaces... she even made my bed! And there are even fresh flowers!

So lovely to come home to a tidy house!Smile

My 16 year old daughter would do this.

If I was on my deathbed. Maybe.

That's so lovely!

I was away for a couple of days and my eldest chivvied the other two to join him cleaning ad tidying then house because "wouldn't it make her so happy to come back to a clean plase and not a tip?"

I nearly cried. It was wonderful.

I just texted her. She said that she knew it had been a tough week and she wanted me to be able to relax at the end of it.

Think I might cry.Blush

And yes, to all those still struggling with the sleepless nights or the bits of lego on the floor or the teenage strops etc...it is all worth it in the end!!!

What a wonderful dd and a wonderful thing to come home too😊

OMG take that young adult out to dinner or buy her something nice to say thank you.
Coming home to a tidy house that I haven’t tidied is something I doubt I’ll ever experience but I’ll hope for it.

Wow you've obviously done a great job. My 15 year old doesn't even do the tasks I have asked her to do. The nearest she came to the washing up last night was to 1 pan in the washing up bowl, (apparently to soak) and leave everything else dirty on the draining board. Yesterday she put the washing machine on but needed reminding this morning that it hadn't been emptied. She hung up some of the clothes qnd spread the rest out on top of a upturned empty drawer, despite an empty inside clothes line 2 metres away from it. Very odd!
