The Queen is under 'medical supervision'

The Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral after doctors became concerned for her health, Buckingham Palace says.

"Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision," they said in a statement.

"The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."

Her immediate family has been informed.

The announcement comes after the Queen, 96, pulled out of a virtual Privy Council on Wednesday, with doctors advising her to rest.

Breaking news BBC

We very much hope she is okay, it made me feel sad to read this. I think the line her immediate family have been informed was a worrying line.

Weirdly I thought that last man they couldn't identify looked like Mike Tindall but it wouldn't make sense for him to be there without Zara.

She is maybe already at Balmoral with her mum?
Just a thought

@Festoonlights - will you start another thread shortly please? This one is getting close to the 1000 post max.

It’s just astounding, isn’t it? How they harp on and on and on……. So bizarre!

They says she's obsessed with fame and tries to make every situation all about her and yet its the people who profess to hate her for that very behaviour who seem obsessed with dragging her name into absolutely every situation.

Weird, isn't it?

have flown into aberdeen several times and always approached from the south. Anyway it has indeed landed.

all depends on the wind direction, other flights following a similar pattern including the north sea helicopters too - just a separation procedure so departures and arrivals keep out of each other’s way.

the80sweregreat · 08/09/2022 16:06

It is strange , appointed her last ever PM only on Tuesday. The 15th one.

girlmom21 · 08/09/2022 16:07

Ah potentially @Dinoteeth. If it's him I'm applying for a job at the BBC Grin

LicoricePizza · 08/09/2022 16:07

Just read that if the monarch dies north of the border it’s Operation Unicorn that is to be followed.
London Bridge is for if she dies in London.

Mummydoingmybest · 08/09/2022 16:07

She’s 96 and a stranger to most of us! Not sure why you’d feel sad about it? Some people love negativity. She’s old, she’s had a good life.. it’s sad for her family but inevitable.

I honestly cannot fathom this amount of vitriol for someone you don’t know and have never met, and for whom everything you do know about her comes from a untrustworthy press and social media rumours.

Welikebeingcosy · 08/09/2022 16:07

To the person who said that the queen was their rock in hard times, did she text or handwrite her support?

mmmflakycrust81 · 08/09/2022 16:08

Power move to meet Liz Truss and then die.

stillherenow · 08/09/2022 16:08

If she is already passed some of the strap lines could be interpreted both ways 'she is comfortable and is resting '

Sharrowgirl · 08/09/2022 14:41

Its sad. She’s living history….all the people she’s known and met - Churchill, JFK, Edward VIII….people who are now just historical figures but she is a living person who could still tell us what they were like.

This is so true

WhileMyGuitarGentlyWeeps · 08/09/2022 16:08

I am feeling really sad at the moment...... Sad It will so sad when the Queen dies. As has been said, most people cannot remember a life without her. I will be devastated when she dies.............

Festoonlights · 08/09/2022 16:08

Thank you for all of your posts - what a sad afternoon it has been. I can’t concentrate on anything

She's been a brilliant monarch. Her speech during covid was more unifying than anything Boris had to say. She's been a constant in almost all of our lives and has committed herself to her job with such grace and professionalism.

I doubt any of us will ever see another monarch like her.

lollipoprainbow · 08/09/2022 16:09

Probably not, but you’re the only one tasteless enough to post that. This is not the time, or the thread.

Tierne · 08/09/2022 16:10

If these are her last moments I wish she could record a last message for us to hear

Maybe she was hanging on to make sure Boris was really going.

To the person who said that the queen was their rock in hard times, did she text or handwrite her support?

why be so deliberately unkind to someone like this?

So you think it's stupid for someone to feel like that - fine, your opinion. Maybe lots of people agree. But why tell a person who clearly does feel like that, and who would be upset right now, what you think? It's going to hurt them, and it's hardly going to make them realise the error of their ways right now and change their mind, is it? Surely there are better times to have general discussions about whether you like the royal family or not, whether you think people should get attached to public figures in some way, whether you think that is healthy or a poor coping mechanism or whatever. But what good does it do to say something unkind to them right now?

frozenorangejuice · 08/09/2022 16:11

Not a royalist by any means but it is sad. She’s our nations figurehead and has been a constant figure in public life. 96 is a fantastic age and she’s lived a life. Wishing her well, whatever happens.

Vapeyvapevape · 08/09/2022 16:11

@Tierne i very much doubt that will happen

ForTheLoveOfSleep · 08/09/2022 16:12

Tierne · 08/09/2022 16:10

What? Why? Why not let her last moment be her just being a Mother and Grandmother instead of a public servant. This is something she has never had a chance to just be and only be.

And it's comments like these that show that Meghan never stood a chance. I'm a staunch republican, but I am so embarrassed that our country has treated this poor woman like they have. We should be ashamed of ourselves.
