The Queen is under 'medical supervision'

The Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral after doctors became concerned for her health, Buckingham Palace says.

"Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision," they said in a statement.

"The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."

Her immediate family has been informed.

The announcement comes after the Queen, 96, pulled out of a virtual Privy Council on Wednesday, with doctors advising her to rest.

We very much hope she is okay, it made me feel sad to read this. I think the line her immediate family have been informed was a worrying line.

BBC reporter has basically just said she's already gone and they're waiting for everyone to get there to announce Shock

He said they're not planning on making another announcement just yet but that might change once everyone arrives.

He clearly didn't mean to/wasn't supposed to, but it must be quite hard to talk about nothing for hours on end. They keep saying things like we're waiting for everyone to arrive before an announcement.

I wasn't able to track the flight of Boris or of Liz to Scotland. I'm surprised that this flight is on the radar considering there are 7 members of the royal household on board.

Interestingly the raf jet from Northolt to Aberdeen seems to have flown right over aberdeen. Looks to be doing circles. Possibly weather related.

It's just live coverage of rainy airports, cameramen trying to film tiny little dots in the distance and people coming and going. Our local radio presenters are all speaking in very muted tones and playing fairly low tempo songs this afternoon.
Everyone's going to look a bit silly if she gets up tomorrow morning and says she feels much better! I hope she's not watching the TV whilst lying in bed.
The underlying atmosphere around it all doesn't feel great though. Not a royalist as many others have said, and she is 96 but I feel weirdly sad :(

Fair enough @Sigma33 but I was stood in central hall and no one left. And why would MPs leave the PMs speech on energy packages because the Queen is ill? What would they be leaving to do?

I think it was the front bench, no doubt coming up with various statements and 'who says what'
