The Queen is under 'medical supervision'

The Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral after doctors became concerned for her health, Buckingham Palace says.

"Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision," they said in a statement.

"The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."

Her immediate family has been informed.

The announcement comes after the Queen, 96, pulled out of a virtual Privy Council on Wednesday, with doctors advising her to rest.

Breaking news BBC

We very much hope she is okay, it made me feel sad to read this. I think the line her immediate family have been informed was a worrying line.

The Royals getting off the plane aren't in black.

RedToothBrush · 08/09/2022 15:59

William, Sophie, Edward, Andrew just landed.

TokyoSushi · 08/09/2022 15:59

It looks like they might be lining up for a 6pm announcement. The plane carrying the last of the Royals has just landed at Aberdeen. Apparently, it's an hour by road to Balmoral from there. So they'll arrive just after 5 which would mean that they could all be in place for a 6pm announcement.

Very sad.

How could you tell from that distance??????

the80sweregreat · 08/09/2022 16:01

It's a long way up to Balmoral from there
A beautiful drive.

I have a relative that works for a local BBC station and she says nothing official has been announced yet.

Get a bloody grip.

girlmom21 · 08/09/2022 16:02

Weirdly I thought that last man they couldn't identify looked like Mike Tindall but it wouldn't make sense for him to be there without Zara.

Lots of helicopters waiting at that airport on flight tracker

Apparently there always are as it's the main heliport for the oil rigs.
Anyway they've arrived and gone off in cars now.

The Royals getting off the plane aren't in black.

I would imagine that that is because them arriving in black would be seen as a de facto announcement that the Queen has died, and they wouldn’t want to pre-empt any official announcement.

The Royals getting off the plane aren't in black.

I'd have thought they'd deliberately avoid it to avoid more speculation. William and Edward were in dark suits. I wondered if Sophie had a black dress under the coat

Blondewithredlips · 08/09/2022 16:03

Not a fan of the royals with the exception of Her Majesty and Princess Anne. Her Majesty is an amazing woman and has been an exceptional queen. We have been so lucky to have her and hoping that she will recover. I can't imagine our country without her.

The 'BBC tweet' was from a fake account.

Sophie had a beige coat on and at least one of the men a light grey suit. No one was wearing a tie.

Imagine seeing the news and thinking "I know! I can make this all about Meghan!"

Pixxie7 · 08/09/2022 16:03

I think Harry and Megan suddenly visiting is possibly the most telling. She is amazing and will be sadly missed. I just think it is sad that her reign has possibly ended with the country in such a mess.

LookItsMeAgain · 08/09/2022 16:04

You would be aware that they probably have clothes in each and every royal residence so that they could change, for just such an occasion.
Just because they aren't wearing it on the flight doesn't mean that they wouldn't change when they get to Balmoral.

Ponoka7 · 08/09/2022 16:04

I wish they would have at least pointed out their Scottish titles. The titles change while in Scotland.

The BBC have.

Tierne · 08/09/2022 16:05

I really wish we could know what the queens last thoughts are on her country.

It’s just astounding, isn’t it? How they harp on and on and on……. So bizarre!

Of course they can change, I was just pointing out that they don't seem to have adopted black yet like the BBC has.
