On Holiday and hate it!

Was just after some moral support am on holiday with my daughter in a shit all inclusive in turkey horrible place and horrible hotel. We are here until Monday 😭honestly been in tears and just want to come home. Any words of wisdom to keep us going. They want £650 for an earlier flight home that I just can’t afford.

Which hotel/resort?

Personally I've never used and never will Jas these tour operators but it doesn't feel kind not to spare others.

You need to get heavy with the tour operators and fyi actually saying you have a MN thread which has x millions of user's can help.
Or will make one

If it's a big tour operator ask to be moved elsewhere. It might cost you a bit more but probably less than the cost of the earlier flight home.

I've been to Turkey lots of times and find it one of the best places to visit. Are you suffering with anxiety? Can you just sleep there and use it as a base as if you would a non all inclusive. It sounds like you are completely out your comfort zone and ive been there its hard

Is it EasyJet holidays? Heard a few horror stories about all inclusive hotels from family and friends this year in particular.

My daughter went to Bodrum earlier this year with her dad...shes 19...she said she encountered some lecherous men...I thought Antalya was one of the nicer parts of Turkey.

Is there anywhere else you could eat? Eating at local restaurants would probably be cheaper than changing your flight.

Try and make the most of it, get up and go out early. I’m sorry you aren’t enjoying it, nothing worse.

We went to Turkey- one day DH and I split up for an hour, he wanted to go swimming and me and DD sat in a bar and suddenly we were swamped with men. Never happened when my DH was around. I wasn’t scared at all- it was 5pm but it was just really annoying. They also touched our hair-we’re both blonde.

Resort? This is supposed to be the nicer resort area.

You need to say you don't feel safe and explain why. Ask if you can be moved somewhere else, or look for another hotel or B&B for the remainder of your stay. I remember staying somewhere that I really hated years ago, and the best thing about the trip was the journey home. See if you can get day trips or whether you can stay in and watch videos.

I booked a New York break with them just before covid hit and they were very good about refunding me even when other companies were being shits to other people. However; that’s just my own experience. I would ring them direct and see if they can help. I’m sorry you’re having an awful time, it’s horrible when you’re stuck somewhere on holiday that’s not what you expected.

What did you expect? All inclusive resorts in grim tourist areas are not where nice holidays are had. They're where fat drunk Brits go to gorge on buffets.

It seems a bit odd to complain about for what most people find to be the whole reason to go.

Pick nicer locations and better hotels?

Turkey can be a bit of a culture shock if you aren’t used to it.

Are either of you blond? You do need to be VERY firm.

You can name the resort...? A couple of us have said we're heading there for half term. If its as bad as you say then we can at least make an informed decision.

It should be law that every resident in every country can speak fluent English

Sorry to hear you’re having a bad holiday, I’ve heard that Turkey is not a great place for women, my friend said she had nothing but constant hassle from creepy local men when she visited 😫another friend said the food was literally nothing but grilled meat.
I hope the week goes quick for you. Next year maybe try Greece, I’ve always found it welcoming and friendly with lots of food options.
