To not want neighbours touching my parcels

AIBU to not want neighbours touching my parcels.

I live in a big converted town house. There is a flat on each floor. I live on the second floor.

My neighbour who lives in the attic (5th floor) always seems to touch my parcels.

All post is delivered by the main entrance way on the ground floor. When he walks past to collect his parcels, he picks up any other ones that belong to other flats, and drops them off outside their front doors on the way up to his.

Christian Bale is that you?

Argh please don’t ask him to stop and crush another persons kind spirit just because you’ve decided to be a butt head and take issue with it. There won’t be anyone willing to do nice things soon for fear of offending people.

This. He sounds lovely and being very neighbourly. It’s nice when people are kind. Sad to crush that kind spirit and put him off of doing good deeds in future.

economicervix · 31/08/2022 14:01

I’ve touched your parcels, OP. Are you fuming?

Brideandpredjudice · 31/08/2022 14:02

Hilarious

FangsForTheMemory · 31/08/2022 14:03

Do you think he’s got a very niche fetish or something?

mycatisannoying · 31/08/2022 14:03

You're a weirdo if this indeed is true.

abblie · 31/08/2022 14:05

This is as bad as the woman complaining about people picking blackberries that hang over her fen e into lane 🙈🙈🙈🙈

LouLou198 · 31/08/2022 14:05

He sounds like a nice neighbour to have. Unless he's licking them I'm not really sure what the problem is.

DadDadDad · 31/08/2022 14:06

I agree with others that this thread has "reverse" written all over it.

MenaiMna · 31/08/2022 14:06

Gemma987 I'm quietly cackling at that one, suspect that will cheer me up all day

Pleaseletitbenaptime · 31/08/2022 14:07

YABU

WoodlandMummy · 31/08/2022 14:08

Neighbourly prick, who does he think he is being so nice and helpful. You need to have sharp
words, OP

🙄

WilsonMilson · 31/08/2022 14:09

Unless he’s somehow defiling them en route (the mind boggles), I don’t really see the problem. Surely he’s being a considerate neighbour?

Quite interested to know what’s in your parcels now. Can’t imagine you’d be arsed if it was just some tat from Amazon.

SleepingStandingUp · 31/08/2022 14:14

Bit different as we’re both in detached houses, totally separate buildings and he’s also extremely nosy and has zero boundaries in other areas so it was the cherry on the cake that he was doing this under the guise of “helping”, after I’d politely asked him to stop multiple times.
Well, totally different then. He's walking through a communal hall littered with parcels and dropping them at flats as he goes.

One if the issues is if you order personal items online such as sex toys - a way I have described it is if I wanted to order a million vibrators and butt plugs every day, I don’t want them by default being fondled by a neighbour you realise that the people packing it have touched the actual box, then the parcel company staff, then the sorting office staff and the post man. Do you think they're all looking at your parcel and then having a quick wank about it or just your neighbour?

Yes, this was a reverse. Glad being kind is not considered strange by 99% of the public.

So please tell us the full story, before MN pulls the post?

Who complained and how?

katishot · 31/08/2022 14:18

Totally unreasonable for posting a reverse. Really annoying.

Sometimes you have to be grateful for the signals people give off that let you know to body swerve them in the future. I am sure your other neighbours appreciate your kindness.

Yes. It's so so annoying when posters do reverses, and it's against Talk guidelines.

Estemonponche · 31/08/2022 14:22

Background is, the individual recently moved into the block of flats. Seemed pleasant enough. I used to do it for my old neighbour and they returned favours for us, took deliveries etc.

no expectation of that.

bumped into new neighbour and was asked if I didn’t mind leaving things were they were, because she doesn’t like other people touching her possessions.

for what it’s worth, it’s always amazon or clothes

Can't believe you started a thread about this.

Yes, you were doing a nice thing. Their decision is odd, but surely you just shrug and leave it. I can't imagine giving this a seconds more thought.
