Neighbours Dog

I'v name changed for this. But am at the end of my tether and need advice. I recently bought a flat, its lovely and I'm really happy with it, but my neighbour has an absolutely huge dog and I'm allergic. She insists on taking it out for a walk three times a day through the communal hallway and I find it quite intimidating and it is making me sneeze.

I wasnt told about the dog when I bought the flat, and it doesnt make any noise. Apparently she has permission for it and permission can only be removed if it is making a noise or fouling - but not for any other nuisance. What can I do?

Not particularly relevant but if you live in a flat with a huge dog you're an idiot.

If you live in a flat that allows dogs and you don't like dogs, your an even bigger idiot.

A Labrador is NOT a huge dog and with 3 walks a day, they are perfect flat dwellers!

Just because she does it doesn't mean she knows it's a problem. Maybe she's just being nice.

You need to grow up, and find a antihistamine that doesn't make you drousey.

The dog making you sneeze whilst not being in your flat is the most Karen thing I've ever heard.

Leave the dog alone, how dare you try and get rid of someone's pet just because you sneeze. I'd tell you how I really feel but this comment would be removed instantly.

Wow. Just, wow.
Exactly how entitled are you, OP?! This is a you problem, not the dog's problem, or your neighbour's problem. This is ALL you.
You have a mild allergy, not anaphylaxis. You don't need to waste a GPs time. You don't need to try to send a dog to an overfilled rescue centre by lying about it being a nuisance, or get his/her owner to be your personal skivvy & vacuum daily. You need to walk to your nearest pharmacy & ask for a non-drowsy antihistamine. Job done. If you really want the communal areas vacuumed more frequently, do it yourself or hire a cleaner.
Failing all that, move. And get some therapy to learn not to control the lives of those around you.

You’re hilarious OP, telling her to hoover every day, because of your issues. I’d tell you to absolutely fuck all the way off, what a nightmare you are.

badhappening · 29/08/2022 16:35

You can't be serious.

Thank your lucky stars you don't have a dog barking all day long that wakes you up at night and early in the morning.

You sound extremely self-centered.

Somethingneedstochange · 29/08/2022 17:10

Well it's a bit much of you to expect someone not to walk they're much loved pet so much because you didn't bother to check about pets when you have severe allergies.

My disabled son has a severe allergy to horses. Just walking past a field he has a reaction. He likes going on walks one of the first things I mentioned when looking at sheltered housing for him was there couldn't be any horses nearby.

You sound like a nightmare neighbour, imagine you have lived happily with your gorgeous well behaved dog somewhere you love for years and the new neighbour starts causing trouble about your dog, sorry you are the problem take an antihistamine at night and grow up
