Have you watched this video by Neil Oliver

AIBU to start believing he actually has a valid point. I am not normally part of the tin foil hat brigade but I most definitely have been starting to question what's been going on recently

I'd be interested to hear other people views on this subject.

Thanks

You should read Naomi Klein The Shock Doctrine.
naomiklein.org/the-shock-doctrine/
It's a few years old now, 2008, but very relevant today. Capitalism requires violence and "shock". The public's disorientation following natural disasters, wars etc is systematically utilised to push through radical political and corporate measures. For instance after the New Orleans flood all the schools were privatised. The disaster response it's self is privatised and corporations profit, which is exactly what we've seen with Covid.

We are all taken for fools.

@AKnitterofThings

Have you read the transcript of his latest interview, and do you think he is providing credible arguments for the things he is claiming?

Of course! I admire the passion of the man to say what he believes. He will not be seen as PC by many people but thank God for the likes of him, Calvin Robinson, Laurence Fox etc. who are standing up against MSM. Not a popular MN belief, I know but I am entitled to my opinions.

I managed three minutes.

You are being unreasonable to watch Neil Oliver. The man is a deluded conspiracy theorist who makes a living off scaring people.

However, there is no doubt we have the worst government we've ever had, run by people who have absolutely no interest in helping or improving things for the people of this country. They are corrupt, they use their power to help their friends and Tory party donors make money, and they only want to stay in power to continue the gravy train.

Schemes like net zero are not the problem. We need a government who will invest huge amounts of money in renewable energy - wind farms, solar farms, solar panels on every new house, etc etc. We need a government who will think long term and do the best thing for the country in 50+ years, not just think about their term in government.

The problem is the Tory party, and the imbeciles who are currently running it (who have always been there, just better hidden).

110% This ^^

@ClaudineClare i seen a women from WEF talking about if the world had a population of 750 million instead of 8 billion how the planet wouldn't struggle.

Poverty kills, there is no doubt about that.

I don't have all the answers all I know is I'm am questioning what's been happening and what the reasons could be

I have a uneasy feeling about the future for my kids.

Well the obvious answer is a plague to wipe out 90% of the population.
I sort of hope that might happen - unless we cut back on what we use - minerals, gas, petrol, food, water we're in big doodoo and no one seems interested in really cutting back ( and by we I mean all of us not just big corp or the rich but the plebs too)

Laurence FOX? Is he that complete tool anti-vaxer tosser?

bringbackveronicamars · 21/08/2022 10:22

Wondering if OP is the husband of the poster who posted concerns about her husband started to believe all this stuff yesterday...

EmmaH2022 · 21/08/2022 10:22

I WISH the powers that be wanted to tackle overpopulation. Sadly I find no evidence whatsoever that this is the case.

DrBlackbird · 21/08/2022 10:23

Slight derail but you have the best MN name ever @BobMortimersPocketMeat 😁

GoWoke "If you are not part of the fight you don’t see the censorship that is everywhere- and therefore are part of the problem."

that's the crap the woke come out with. I gave up on politics ages ago. Doesn't mean I can't see censorship.

His voice sounds very familiar. Did he voice the visit Scotland adverts?

LampLighter414 · 21/08/2022 10:29

Did he address chemtrails? If not he is part of the elites attempts to divert us away from what is truly going on with this conspiratorial claptrap. A bit like Russel Brand.

Yes. Lovely voice. Reminds me of an ex. He wasn't Scottish but has the same lovely rich tone.

This time last year Oliver was predicting more lockdowns. He is a fearmongerer.

@Indoctro

Do you understand what the WEF actually is and what power it has (or more importantly doesn't have) over the world's governments? Do you think the WEF has the power to reduce the population?

There is a strong whiff of anti-Semitism pervading many of these conspiracy theories.

bogus Accusations of racism/anti-semitism are a common silencing tactic

HoppingKangaroo · 21/08/2022 10:33

It is called the Great Reset - you will own nothing and be happy. Klaus Schwab head of the WEF has written a book on it. They don't want you owning private property, they don't want you owning or using a car, they don't want you eating meat.
They are trying to put Dutch farmers out of business demanding some half their herd. All in the name of global warming because too much nitrogen when Dutch farmers are some of the most sustainable farmers in the world. They also export alot of food for such a small country. The Dutch government just want the farmers land.

foliageeverywhere · 21/08/2022 10:34

Unfortunately all these CTs link back to far right views underscored by racism. One of the links he provided goes to an article titled "The Jew World Order". It's predictable and depressing @Elmore

(And is why people take such issue with anti-vaxxers like him and Laurence Fox making Nazi/Holocaust comparisons)

Hungryharriet · 21/08/2022 10:34

The government is made up of individuals, most of whom genuinely care about their constituents. It's too broad a statement to say 'the government is working against us.'
World politics are to blame for a lot of the UK's current issues (another broad statement).

Despite who or what you think of him, I am more meaning I have started to think along the same lines myself recently and then came across his video from a few days ago.

No that he has made me think this, I was already starting to think it myself.

If anything, the "open you eyes" stuff is annoying because, while I don't agree with all of it, a lot of it has been known for ages.

but I suppose media is about presenting old stuff like it's new.

derxa · 21/08/2022 10:35

stayathomegardener · 21/08/2022 09:05

Thanks for sharing @Indoctro shockingly there's nothing there I disagree with.

And as a UK farmer I can clarify that amazingly there is no encouragement for a dig for victory movement which would make so much sense plus yes we are now being offered financial incentives to sell up and leave the industry entirely

Agree. Bill Gates pays Guardian to write anti farmer articles e.g. George Monbiot

HoppingKangaroo · 21/08/2022 10:39

Also just look at what happened to the trucker protests in Canada - Trudeau froze their bank accounts. Something a dictator would do - not something in a free democratic country were people should have the right to free assembly.

He does. But there are more worrying figures for example George Soros

Bluebells12 · 21/08/2022 10:42

What a rambling repetitive whinge! Incredibly patronising too. I’m not sure what his point is and suspect he doesn’t have one.

The main thing he keeps repeating is that we shouldn’t blindly trust the government. Well we know that, we’re in the process of booting out a crap Prime Minister. But he seems to imply there’s some kinda conspiracy?! 🤣 I’ve worked for government and the problem is incompetence, individuals obsession with promotion, and lack of direction. They aren’t capable of organising a conspiracy.
