To think Tattle is disgusting?

I was just searching for a lady I have followed on Instagram for some time (The Nurse Mum) who's little boy Jaxon sadly died. She's doing a ball event and I wanted to find out more info......anyway, after putting her name into Google I came across a website called Tattle with her name there. I've never seen this website before but having gone onto it my god it's awful! Such evil spouting from women about other people....I couldn't read on it was just so horrible and contrived.

How is something like that allowed to operate? Makes some of the 'harsh' comments on here look lovely 😕

It’s just a gossip site and they are only discussing people who put themselves into the spotlight.

much worse is the type of forum I found once where mostly married men discussed prostituted women eg in massage parlours in Chinatown and shared tips on how to get them down to a tenner for a hand job.

Oh , is it tumblr or something similar ( I don't want to search it but there was a lonk on MN years ago and I opened it , ...vile )

I haven't been on Tattle (but I have no interest in influencers or instagram)

And KiwiFarm , yes brutal to LP/HD whatever names she's using at the time , most of ot was vicious beyond belief !

Totally agree.

It seems the secret recipe to becoming a popular influencer is either one or a mix of the following … narcissism / the ability to grift off those more vulnerable / successfully peddle substandard gear for inflated prices / the oversharing of children online to the WWW without that child’s consent (prime example Jonathan jolly or whatever his name is). As soon as any of this is pointed out they cry “troll” / “be kind” / “bullying” / “terf”; I think that’s what is really disgusting. Tattle is really well monitored, a lot of the trolling is actually done by the Influencers themselves (Jack Monroe joining her own thread and opening up sock accounts or MOD opening up sock accounts on her thread … the narcissism). The food & drink thread and the mumsnet thread are my favourites.

ChagSameachDoreen · 12/08/2022 10:29

It's brilliant. You can be gender critical there and not be censored.

Badger1970 · 12/08/2022 10:34

I find it's a fab site. You don't get constant deletions and people can express opinion.

Most of these so called influencers are lying through the teeth and deserve to be called out on it when they are.

megletthesecond · 12/08/2022 10:35

They're 75% awful and 25% bang on the nose about people.
I never realised there were so many families monetising their kids out there.

Speaking as someone who has been personally affected by Tattle, I think it is an absolutely vile place full of the absolute dregs of the internet. Yes MN can be a bit of an awful pile-on to posters, but it's as anonymous as it can be - the trolls on Tattle take pleasure on ripping people to shreds with lies and heinous assumptions. What it does to people's lives is horrific and IMO it should be de-indexed by Google.

I think they EXPOSE the lies to be honest.... influencer culture is far more dangerous and it's laughable what they try to get away with

Tattle calls them out on it. That's not a bad thing

tiger2691 · 12/08/2022 10:38

Had a look at the Jack Monroe thread, for all of 30 seconds, wont be going back, what a horrible place.

GirlInACountrySong · 12/08/2022 10:38

Clemmie hooper (mother of daughters) made her OWN tattle account and used it to slate her own husband (father of daughters)as well as fellow influencers

Tattle spotted that very quickly....and exposed her. How her marriage survived that I don't know! Unless....

DietCokeExtraIce · 12/08/2022 10:39

Exactly this, you know what you're getting and they do go too far but they are right about a lot of things...

And what do you think about the jack monroe threads here on mumsnet?

Sparklingbrook · 12/08/2022 10:40

There's exposing lies and then there's forensically zooming in on pictures, and working out where people live and ripping everything to shreds. It makes me wonder what these slebs have done to them personally to make them want to do that.

fortunately2022 · 12/08/2022 10:40

Only looked at a big familyone. Such obsession and hatred with them. It's unreal

Don't those threads on here always get deleted?

I agree

Wordleturdle · 12/08/2022 10:42

@Skinnermarink omg this thread has made it to tattle already 😂

We all have a toxic side, it's human nature.

You have come on here to spout judgement on those who go on Tattle to spout judgement.

...and that's my judgement.

Own it!

Ridiculous, ad hominem argument. My judging and criticising the (vile) anonymous behaviour of a large group of people on the internet is in no way comparable to what goes on on Tattle. If you can make a compelling argument for how it is comparable, please go ahead and try and persuade me.

As for that we all have a toxic side, better to embrace it and act out on it argument... nah, I'm good for that, thanks - as are the people in my life.

I'd be surprised if there wasn't a permanent thread running over there about MN and how awful that is. 😂

prepared101 · 12/08/2022 10:48

I prefer Tattle to Mumsnet. I tend to lurk rather than post and I do avoid some threads which are just the same posters being mean about people but they speak a lot of truth. The JM thread is enlightening and they've got the measure of Mrs Hinch too.

LondonWolf · 12/08/2022 10:50

Skinnermarink · 12/08/2022 09:23

I think Mumsnet can be far worse on its toxicity towards women, actually. It’s happened to me and I see it happening to some poster or other pretty much every day.

Tattle might debate people in the public eye but they don’t rip other posters to shreds.

I agree with this actually. The superiority, classism, snobbery and sneering on this site is hard to beat sometimes. At least they don't claim to be something they're not.

A580Hojas · 12/08/2022 10:51

I quite like a quick browse on Tattle. I don't actually follow anyone on social media so it doesn't inform me much, but I think it's great there's a place on the internet who won't take any nonsense from this awful generation of so-called "influencers".

People are SO gullible and such suckers, and it's good to have some critical opinion going on somewhere.

Yes, this is very true.

Sparklingbrook · 12/08/2022 10:52

What do they claim to be though? The saviours of innocents getting sucked in by those nasty influencers?

Nah I don't buy this, in some occasions maybe, but I had a lot of things said about me that were definitely not true (and I know this because it was my life they were discussing) - it wasn't an exposure of lies, it was falsifying information that could be found really easy by googling my name. It was mortifying and quite frankly damaging to know there was false information out there that could be found by family members, potential employers, friends, etc, that they may judge me on that simply didn't have a shred of truth in it.

SausagePourHomme · 12/08/2022 10:55

one other thing I like about tattle is that posters are not clamouring to mention their salary, DHs salary, their house value etc. You can't move for that on mumsnet these days and I'm sick of it.

NigelDidIt · 12/08/2022 10:55

@dehloh why isn't it good enough? If I don't like a website why would I actively seek it out? You can't police the whole internet, Tattle users aren't doing anything wrong and the site is moderated.
