To wonder why men hate women so much?

YouAreNotBatman · 07/08/2022 11:09

Violence againt women, sexual harrasment.

Controlling women bodies.

Women’s sexuality: frigid prude if you don’t want sex, slut if you.

Porn, sex ”work”.

All the MRA’s, mgtow, incels etc.

Even historically speaking they have no reason to be angry at women, women never had any power, mostly tried to accommodate to men’s demand/ wants, I think it still goes on.

Many women still tip toe the line to placate men.

What reason do they have to be so angry at women?

Because they’re scared shitless of us. We can grow an actual human, and bleed for a week without dying.

They have to control what they don’t understand.

See I think views such as these are so odd

Why would men be scared of women?

Men have no need to be fearful of women in any way shape or form.

It's simply laughable to think any man who hates a woman is in fact scared of them

@Sheepreallylikerichteabiscuits but men as a class don't hate women

It's like saying women love the colour pink

98% of women between the ages of 18-25 have been sexually harassed by men.

The vast majority of women beaten and killed are beaten and killed by men. I think its something ridiculous like 99%.

When those figures drop then I will be interested in entertaining the notion that men as a class don't hate women.

Some men are great, some are fabulous, some are just okay but that's fine. But a higher than average number are not. Therefore statistically on average men as a class hate women.

///

The number of young girls who are sexually propositioned, while dressed in their school uniform, is also shocking.

So someone's dad, son, brother, grandad, uncle. These are the people saying these to our clearly young, daughters.

This is internalised misogyny

Yes and @Suetodo88 is giving a fantastic demonstration of what internalised misogyny looks like.

ILoveToads · 07/08/2022 13:36

There are a lot of men who do absolutely fuck all when their mates or work colleagues make derogatory comments about women.

They may not agree and would never even think such things themselves but they don't call them out for it.

I can't even keep count of the times a man has apologised for the behaviour of a male friend when I've been groped or verbally abused on a night out, but didn't say anything to him at the time.

I'm sick of it.

MackenCheese · 07/08/2022 13:36

So by the reasoning that women are sexual gatekeepers, does that mean that gay men like women more (they get sex without having to interact with a woman)?? And does that mean that male gay sex is getting more popular?

Deadringer · 07/08/2022 13:37

VandyCan · 07/08/2022 12:55

Hardly strange

Reproductive transplants are already medically possible

It's not too much of a jump to think in 20-30 years time biological males will be able to give birth if they so wish.

Give birth to what, scotch mist? They will still need eggs from women. And I would say vanishingly few men will choose to give birth, unless it's part of some weird fetish.

Whitehorsegirl · 07/08/2022 13:37

I think some men really do hate women and many want to control them.

For centuries they used the fact that they are physically stronger and usually more aggressive than women to create societies and religions that meet the needs to men and where women are only there to play a secondary, submissive role in the home. That allowed men to control women and children. Many countries still follow this model unfortunately...

So some men are angry/scared when they see that power being challenged as it has been for the past few decades. They are competing with women in the workplace and they have to try harder to find a partner because women don't need them for their financial survival. So they get angry because simply being born male no longer gives them the advantaged in our Western societies.

We still have a world which is built by men for men though (look at the state of the Met police for example...) and many of them still think women are just there to look pretty and service their needs. Many men still think women's bodies should belong to them. As long as that continues we will have domestic violence, sexual assaults and women having to work much harder to get their achievements in the workplace recognised.

Suetodo88 · 07/08/2022 13:05

@Sheepreallylikerichteabiscuits

The point I was making is if they create the workplace in the first place they’re entitled to want control of it. So it very much matters if they resent it as if they just refuse to let you take part (and if enough of them wanted to they could) that’s it.

So instead of just always wanting men to “budge up” and receive equality through asking (or demanding) to be given a place by them in what they’ve made, I really think it would be wiser for women to create more female workplaces etc.

I think it’s fine for men to have their own things so long as they don’t stop women from making things of their own too. I think we’re different. I don’t want my sons weighed down like that.

Historically though men had the money, means and status to do so.

That's a lot of years of fighting over the scraps we've to make up for. Whilst still being primary carers to our kids and elderly relatives when we're not working our typically lower paid jobs. In a country and society that welcomes us working or going to school.

So yes - we're working on it but with all the best intentions we will never be doing anything other than playing catch up really.

Incels as a group are not defined as a hate group by any government.

Some groups of incels are, but incels as a 'class' are not

You are right, they are actually classed as terrorists, not a hate group in Canada. So that's better then 🙄

I missed that too Hmm

VandyCan · 07/08/2022 13:40

@Deadringer has the concept of egg donation flown past you?

That's the least difficult part of the entire thing!

VandyCan · 07/08/2022 13:41

@Sheepreallylikerichteabiscuits

No they are not

Stop talking out of your bottom

There have been a few incels brought up on terrorism charges since 2018, as a class they are not designated as terrorist

Ffs

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 07/08/2022 13:42

I've not said men as a class do. I do think enough of them to be a serious problem do.

Sheepreallylikerichteabiscuits · 07/08/2022 13:43

God yes, sexual harassment for me started at 12, when I was in school uniform and men would shout comments out of the window at me. Sometimes they even had sons and daughters my age in the back of their car, but they would still do it. Ignorant pigs.

MbatataOwl · 07/08/2022 13:43

They'd need a whole woman sewn on to them like in that rat experiment recently.

Deadringer · 07/08/2022 13:48

WalkingOnTheCracks · 07/08/2022 13:02

…er…the incentive might be that they have daughters. I mean, if you want a reason other than simple humanity.

I said men have no incentive to change things as love as 'their women' are safe, I was including their daughters in that. Ensuring the safety of your own wives/sisters/daughters isn't tackling the problem though.

MbatataOwl · 07/08/2022 13:49

The number of young girls who are sexually propositioned, while dressed in their school uniform, is also shocking

I think this is part of the reason why some men hate us. Whether we like it or not there are a hell of a lot of men that perv on very young girls, the whole school girl uniform fetish proves it.
Women tend to be the ones that safeguard children. Men don't like being stopped from doing what they want, especially if what they want to do arouses them sexually.

Best tell the RCMP that then since they added incels to their terrorist awareness guide.

I mean they consider them terrorists, or violent extremists, but they are only the police in Canada, what do they know compared to a random person on the internet who seems weirdly interested in defending incels...

Women need to do more
They need to stop tolerating abuse

How did dick pics become a thing? Why wasn't that shut down immediately?

So many women must just accept receiving them wothoyg a word of complaint.

Look at the threads on groping in a marriage /cat calling etc

Lots of women saying they love it, they like being desired

So…. It’s women’s fault?
we haven’t done enough? When we don’t hold the power required to change this situation?
what should we do, get into fights and lose, somehow skip the ‘corrective rapes’ (ask lesbians, if you don’t know what that is), go into work with a gun and kill our bosses after our sexual harassment cases are ignored/not dealt with, or we experience maternity discrimination, or don’t get promoted because we’re of childbearing age, somehow force the police and CPS to investigate and prosecute cases of DV and rape/sexual violence (note: 1.2% of rape cases that do get prosecuted result in a conviction. As the victim’s commissioner said, the government has in practice decriminalised rape).

I could go on.

every time I tried to stand up for myself in the face of a misogyny, sexual harassment, cat calling and when I experienced domestic violence, the situation escalated and ended up worse for me.

mycatisannoying · 07/08/2022 13:52

It works both ways. Mumsnet has more than its fair share of men haters!
The majority of men I know are bumbling through life, doing their best, just like us. They don't hate, rape or murder. That's the minority, surely Confused

Lots of women are happy not having equality

Theyre absolutely fine with their ohs being the cave man provider

Oh for God's sake, can they not have both?
It's this dramatic crap that makes us lose kudos.

Rinatinabina · 07/08/2022 13:54

I think those kind of men have a fear of being a cuckhold, or being found to be inadequate in some way. I think some see “their” woman as a reflection of their own status.

It’s quite explicit in south asian culture where honour is the responsibility of female members of the family while often being on the receiving end of much more control and expectation of more labour within that family than the males. It’s amazing to be simultaneously so valuable your honour can raise or lower a whole familiy’s standing while also being the family skivvy 🙄.

I think it’s to do with a skewed idea of status being mixed with domination. Men like dominating, they think thats what society values, dominant men. If you can’t even dominate weaker women then what are you as a man? You have no authority why would other men respect you?

I think it’s helpful to see it from the perspective of if you were looking at any other animal and how power and social structures work.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 07/08/2022 13:56

l can' t relate to all men hate women, its a victim mentality, women are not hapless victims but this seems to be general concensus on here.

///

So either the piece of shit who heckles my daughter walking home from school is just "paying her a compliment " - yes, some people really say that - or she's allowing herself to be a victim?

Interesting view I suppose

It's really not the same.
Women aren't killing their current or previous partners at a rate of 2 a week are they?
