Prince George went with Kate and William to watch a match.. What a shame Princess Charlotte isn't there...!

Optics for the Firm to keep themselves "relevant" and inserted into the "national story". That said if I was their pr I would have sent Kate with Charlotte both wearing shirts.

I think if you were their PR you’d find you wouldn’t be “sending” them anywhere. And you wouldn’t have the job long if you tried.

Ffs. She's seven years old. Those poor kids should be living age appropriate lives. They're going to be beholden to the public more than enough as adults. They really should be left alone to have a proper childhood.

I can't believe that a bunch of women on a forum for mothers, is demanding that a seven year old girl is dragged from one part of the country to another and back to sit through two hours of football (plus all the palaver that undoubtedly goes on before and after) because 'we'd like to have seen her'.

Jesus wept. None of us would put our kids through that, repeatedly, at every event that the public deems deserves their presence.

Would you now.

Looking at the photos taken in Birmingham today, I didn't get the impression that Charlotte objected to being 'dragged' around the country to see various sporting events. Glad she had fun with her Mum and Dad.

She probably doesn’t enjoy watching football whether it’s girls playing or boys and shouldn’t be made to go just because she’s the daughter of Prince William. There is plenty of time when she is older to support whatever sport she is interested in.

Or to support no sport at all! The assumption that all children (and adults) should be interested in sport is very bizarre.

On the bright side OP, she was at the Commonwealth games

I've resigned from my pro bono PR job for the time being.... (or was sacked !)

linsey2581 · 05/08/2022 15:44

Charlotte went to see the gymnastics at the commonwealth games. Maybe she didn’t want to go to the football? Did OP go to the football.

I'd have to love to have seen her there too

I wonder when this will ever stop. Yes, this sense of ownership over children in the royal family has to stop.
