DH is looking at Twitter and it's obviously about Prince William's alleged affair but can't figure out where it's coming from now all of a sudden. Anyone in the know?

Anyone who thinks this is true, how can you explain Pippa calling her new baby Rose? Even if Kate has turned a blind eye to an affair, surely this is not something to do to your sister? I just can’t believe Pippa would do this if there was any truth to this.

vera99 · 29/07/2022 08:59

It has been said when you let light into the magic of the monarchy then the walls come tumbling down. After HM goes it's going to be very difficult to maintain their current status in an undeferential world and yes if Kate ever wanted out that would probably be the end.

Loads of irrelevant posts have used the hashtag globally to shill their products or views but I wouldn't fancy being in their social media team yesterday and today and doing a summary for the boss ! It's a global war they can never win and the latest incarnation seems to have been sparked by them doing a visit to the US.

anothernamecheckplease it's when a man gets shagged up the arse by a woman with a strap on.

But aren't they a middle-aged married couple 🤔

It’s true, your bumhole disappears when you hit 30.

That’s a bit odd though anyway, isn’t it? There’s no way that Pippa doesn’t know about the rumours about Rose, even if it isn’t true. It’s like one of those baby-naming AIBU threads on here.

DorritLittle · 29/07/2022 09:23

I feel sorry for Rose and Kate. Not because of the alleged affair but because none of the rumours come from credible sources. Therefore, if it isn't true they are being thrown under a bus for the sake of gossip. Shame on Mumsnet for keeping both these threads up.

vera99 · 29/07/2022 09:23

England's Rose...

wonderstuff · 29/07/2022 09:23

Wasn’t Kate & Pippa’s grandmother known as Rose?

How do you know if they’re credible sources or not?

why not? there are countless threads with made up stuff about M allowed to stand.
(have to say this all sounds like made up shite to me)

vera99 · 29/07/2022 09:33

We are "subjects" not citizens. Vive La Republique. Glad to see MN are allowing freedom of speech however distasteful to some. In essence and some of the more lurid claims have been Snopes style "crowd wisdomed" as probably not true - we are speculating no more than the series "The Crown" does and MN was founded on the principles of liberal freedom of speech which is the default. It's not purple rinse forelock tugging People's Friend after all.

Except M really did do the Oprah interview whereas W & K are married 😀

vera99 · 29/07/2022 09:37

Every time I see the DM doing 5 different gushing articles on K&W I reach for my sick bag. We have a great tradition of lese majeste in the UK won at great expense. Long may it continue.

I do feel sorry for them because they live in this hideous goldfish bowl where your every move is scrutinised and you can't do anything without attracting media attention. Also you have no recourse to deny anything if it isn't true, you're pretty much stuck with smiling and waving through it all.

But none of this means the rumours are not true. I have no idea if they are true and I don't know if the sources are credible but there's no shame in speculating about the veracity of rumours about something which ultimately has constitutional implications.

I'm old enough to remember the years of speculation about Charles and Diana's marriage and back then people would always scold you for "gossiping" about it because there was no way such a beautiful and privileged young woman could be being cheated on. But in the end of course it was all true. And more.

We are not obliged to take everything the Royal PR machine tells us at face value.

Yes because that's all she's ever been accused of doing on here 🙄

Snog · 29/07/2022 09:43

Could it be that sunshine sachs is doing all the pegging here?

Exactly, it doesn't matter if it's true or not.

She must have had an attachment ti the name for some other reason

User34352515 · 29/07/2022 09:45

The fact that both this and the other thread (www.mumsnet.com/talk/in_the_news/4599805-prince-william-trending?page=10) have been allowed to stay on MN for almost a full day is really, really suspicious. It almost feels like a deal has been made for all threads on this subject to remain up for a fixed time frame so the maximum damage is done. This is absolutely not within range of typical MN deletion time frames especially considering the massive number of reports that must have gone in.

Badger1970 · 29/07/2022 09:47

Have Sunshine Sachs been hard at work again?

TheKeatingFive · 29/07/2022 09:47

I'm massively shocked this is still up

AffIt · 29/07/2022 09:49

If you think about it in the context of 'alleged' royal / aristo proclivities over the past couple of hundred years, it's relatively tame in the grand scheme of things...

bollygu · 29/07/2022 09:49

this this this, it's ok to question propaganda

bollygu · 29/07/2022 09:50

If these threads disappeared it would fuel the fire surely.

vera99 · 29/07/2022 09:52

@User34352515 maybe Justine is a Republican who feels that the Royal Family underpins and cements the whole reactionary establishment and is anti-democratic by it's very nature (an unelected Head of State determined by birth). If so good for her. Who knows?
