DH is looking at Twitter and it's obviously about Prince William's alleged affair but can't figure out where it's coming from now all of a sudden. Anyone in the know?

Is it Kate that wears the strap on or someone else

Slightly disappointed they’re not talking about hanging out the washing, I’m not going to lie. DH pegs out socks individually, such a waste of precious time. And pegs.

Guardian12 · 28/07/2022 23:33

It’s from a gossip account on Instagram called Deuxmoi.

It’s been out there a while if you knew where to look, but the papers etc were busy reporting on Harry and Meghan. Funny that.

Ooh where to look??

I doubt Pippa Matthews would have named her new daughter Rose, if there were any truth to the rumor. The supposed original source, Giles Coren admitted that there was no truth in it if I remember rightly.

He wasn't the original source, Tom Sykes wrote about it too (and stated he was first told about it at a dinner party with an Earl's daughter, and later had it confirmed by 2 separate "reliable sources"), and it was all over the Internet for months before Giles' tweet, and a huge gossip story off-line for ages before it got on Twitter.

Not saying it's true because how would any of us know, but people are a wee bit too desperate to claim it came from Giles' tweet when it's pretty easy to see that the rumour was everywhere long before his tweet.

Anyway Giles didn't say it wasn't true, he said he'd been at a boozy lunch with loads of journalists who were all talking about the affair rumour and that he didn't know whether it was true or not.

I thought it was the opposite and that he had said that everybody knew about it. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him though.

StolenWillowTree · 28/07/2022 23:57

Anyway the pegging rumour has been online since 2015.

The Rose rumour has been around for years.

It's Sussex fans spreading it for sure, but the idea that Meghan personally is involved is just pure spite and nastiness. Meghan gets blamed for everything, even things that happened before she even met Harry!

IcakethereforeIam · 29/07/2022 00:04

I learned what pegging was from the glossary of the Family Sex Show. Envy

ChipsRoastOrBoiled · 29/07/2022 00:20

Straight from the Markle publicity machine. They had to do something to distract from the book about her & Harry that has just been published.

StolenWillowTree · 29/07/2022 00:33

The pegging rumour has been online since 2015. You can find old posts about it dated 2015.

But of course you lot blame Meghan for absolutely everything, you're so obsessed with her.

I was pleasantly surprised at how tame it was given the histrionics about not googling on twitter. Far better than dragon butter. Just. don't. Google.

Thanks for that. May I suggest to anyone who can't resist googling, if your device autocorrects to "dragon butterfly" just go with that prompt instead. Much more pleasant.

TomPinch · 29/07/2022 04:36

I've been in Twitter, following memes about certain royals, pegs and tights. What a bunch of over-invested wierdos (on Twitter, I mean). Very funny though.

I wonder what Edward VIII was into. Edward VII or Edward Duke of Clarence was into interesting furniture, I'm told.

So are we to assume that anything negative and Meghan and Harry is true but anything negative about William and Catherine is spread by Meghan and Harry?

Rose Hanbury, the woman he allegedly had an affair with. If Kate were pegging her husband it would be neither rumour nor issue.

Perhaps I’m old but I’ve never understood what pegging has in it for the woman: looks like hard work with no physical gratification.

Porridgeislife · 29/07/2022 05:07

The Rose Hanbury affair apparently had a super injunction in place. The DM alluded to it endlessly for about a year by running nonsensical puff pieces about Will/Kate/the Norfolk set.

Her friend Rose apparently.

I agree.

JinglingHellsBells · 29/07/2022 07:26

Sadly , this is Twitter for you.

Some people like to spend their time creating stories and have an audience.

If you read the Tweets, look at the profiles of the posters, they are nobodies, with a handful of followers, who simply want to have a dig at the Royals and think Twitter is the way to do that.

Depends on what sort of dildo the woman is wearing.

LongLive89 · 29/07/2022 07:45
  1. It has nothing to do with MM. All of the gossip sites online have been saying for years that PW has this arrangement in his marriage.
  2. The reason it came to light and has been tweeted widely yesterday is because DeuxMoi popped it on their Instagram stories yesterday and it took off from there.
  3. I don’t really care what is going on in their marriage - it’s on them. But I do think this story (and others) about the couple have been squashed and MM/PH stories fed to the press instead. This is what I don’t agree with.

The pleasure in doing something nice for your partner? No different to men giving cunnilingus.

Except that even if it was just Kate doing the pegging it would still be funny.

Tiredalwaystired · 29/07/2022 07:50

I mean… how does anyone KNOW?

It would be very odd if W chatted about this in the pub with his mates, given, you know, married future king with tabloid spies on every corner and all that, and given the amount of “people” his family knows I’d vibe very discreet if I was the OW in case I got accidentally pushed down some stairs.
