AIBU to shove this paper plate up the Vinted seller’s arse?

Ordered some Nike Air Jordan’s for my DD’s birthday from Vinted.

The package arrived today, except what I actually received was a folded up paper plate in a tiny mailing bag.

Please reassure me that I haven’t lost all my money because I can’t afford to get her anything else. Have just reported to Vinted. I know on eBay it’s easy enough for sellers to scam people by sending an empty box or whatever so I’m hoping this isn’t the same.

Pretty sure there’s no LSD on the plate 🤣 it’s very slow exacting if there is. Didn’t even get a free trip 😞.

@Matildahoney she’s a size 6 and the ones she ordered were pink and white high top ones.

What the fuck? An entire paper plate infused with LSD would cost the seller more than actually sending the trainers 🤣

Sorry OP, I only have size 5's my personal collection but I have some duplicates. eBay do an authentication service but you have to spend over £100, and for legit Jordans you'll be lucky to get them under £100. Stock X is a good place to look to see rough resale prices. Lots of white & pink ones out there and they're usually more sought after as they're more rare.

Just looked on Twitter for vinted paper plate and there are loads of people in the same boat. Whoever is doing it has been really busy.

No use now sorry but useful for people reading, always use PayPal, that way you will get your money back whatever, regardless of the third party site's rules, not sure about Vinted but on Ebay you would 100% get your money back.

@Zonder maybe we can all gang up and do a joint Daily Mail sad face article of us all holding our paper plates up whilst looking forlorn.

Or tripping balls, one or the other.

They need to send something to trick eBay/Vinted ect that they did send the item.

@WisteriaHysteria22 paypal isn’t an option on Vinted. And I do know people who have lost a lot of money buying on eBay and never got it back through PayPal, because the seller could prove that the ‘item’ was delivered. Eg ordered high tech equipment, received old table lamp of approximate same weight.

I miss the days when I could go and buy her some trainers in Asda for a fiver and she’d be happy with that 🤣.

LSD on the plates

If you made payment via debit card you can do a chargeback through your bank. Just log in to your online banking and dispute the charge. They'll ask for evidence but the correspondence with Vinted will suffice. Usually the chargeback will be credited to your account straight away and Vinted will have a certain amount of time to respond. If it's a fraudulent sale Vinted won't dispute that chargeback.

Chargeback applies to VISA and debit card. (s75 to credit cards). You can try to claim the £ back via the bank account.

I had a crap Vinted experience this week, not as bad as yours by a long shot, but still crap and very annoyed to have to pay to return 😡
Seller had advertised an item of child's clothing as 'new without tags'. The two big yellow stains, bobbling and ground in dirt on the cuffs suggested otherwise. It wasn't particularly expensive but it's fraudulent 😠

Are you the same person who posted yesterday saying they'd bought Bose headphones on Vinted and yep, also received a paper plate?
