Am I naive to think Boris PM knows something we don’t know?

Exactly that! The man is being shamed, people are resigning left right and centre (no pun intended). Am I thinking Boris out of possible concern for the country knows something we don’t know and wonders if he is actually the best of a bad bunch?

or is he so egotistical, so consumed by his own worth that he actually hasn’t got a clue!

I’m trying to work out why he’s clinging on for dear life!

He has actually just stood like a primary school boy and said "I think it's all about me - they are picking on me and ignoring what I'm saying"

He's pathetic

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 06/07/2022 16:58

Have just read that the 1922 comm. rules have now officially been changed...

Did he really say that?

That lady in blue was brilliant.
I think that BJ will be counting it in hours now till he has to remove that wallpaper !
Anyone got a steamer handy ..

I sent this to a friend last night!

itsgettingweird · 06/07/2022 17:01

He did blossoms. In response to being asked why so many people have lost confidence and are resigning (along those lines).

It was basically their fault for refusing to listen to him and how he wants to run the country and focussing more of getting him out.

It really was the most pathetic thing I've ever seen from a world leader (even by standards such as Putins)

I thought he was going to turn on the waterworks and wail "iiiitttsssss not faaaiiiirrrrrr"

thesurrealist · 06/07/2022 17:02

Nope don't think he knows anything we don't

Or anything at all really. Like Jacob Rees Mogg he is proof of the wonders of a good and expensive education being able to disguise a stupid mind.

He's waiting for that Strictly or I'm a celeb offer first I think. Perhaps him and Carrie will go in together. Hope they like heights, snakes and eating unusual foods.

LondonJax · 06/07/2022 17:02

Well, doing the rounds at the moment is 'Carrie Doesn't Live Here Anymore' by Cliff Richard - not picking on Carrie, there just isn't one called 'Boris (is a lying toad). Bet that'll be viral by Friday (which is when I think Boris will go).

There are now 9 members of the cabinet (including Sunak and Javid) who have said they have no confidence or he needs to go. He's looking very weak and like someone who will end up being evicted whilst holding onto the bannisters, rather than someone who knows when they're finished and goes with dignity.

BloodyHellKen · 06/07/2022 17:05

Just a thought, but if he is cornered could he dissolve parliament rather than stand down?

He didn't arrive with any dignity, so if he leaves with it they'll be counting the cutlery and checking the light bulbs.

Fifteentoes · 06/07/2022 17:08

"Concern for the country". Haha good one.

Fenella123 · 06/07/2022 17:09

Johnson: "Nadim, would you be Chancellor?"
Zadaw: Awesome, first Iraqi-born Chancellor! And only for a day or two so I won't have to actually do anything...
"Of course Prime Minister, it would be a privilege!"
[FX: gets mate to update Wikipedia page]
[FX: makes cup of tea, sighs, swivels chair over to laptop, starts typing...]
"Dear Prime Minister,
May I first say what an honour and a privilege it has been to serve as Chancellor of the Exchequer for this, our great country.

However..."
[FX: Googles 'Tory resignation letters' for inspiration, resumes typing]

I think he could. He'd have to go to Liz and ask her permission though, I think?

I sent this to a friend last night!

I think she'd even take the cutlery tray in the kitchen draw.

Who was the lady in blue? I'm surprised all these resignations don't even trump TM's, although the amount in 24 hours is quite astonishing. This all sounds very coordinated to me. I wonder what the plan is after he goes? I'm not buying they are all resigning based on whats happened, given that there have been plenty of fuck ups and lies prior to this week. I think there is an agreement they are going to get reinstated somehow.

Imagine if he did and she told him to bugger off 😂

ClaudineClare · 06/07/2022 17:11

It's all a plot by Putin to oust the heroic, humble, friend of Ukraine Johnson. Putin is probably planning to put Corbyn in place as PM. Or something.

Or maybe the Tories have finally admitted the fact that he is a scheming liar who cares for no-one but himself and will drag the Tory government down with him.

Jenasaurus · 06/07/2022 17:12

By holding on, he has another chapter in the book he will no doubt write when he eventually goes.

One comment he made when being cross examined by the senior backbenchers just now when asked if he knew any other information about the people he employed. His response was, very vague and at one point mumbled something about not remembering and it could even be someone around this horseshoe (implying one of the senior backbenchers) whilst that is probably not the case, I wonder if he would reveal all (like Dominic Cummings did) when he does leave.

He'd need permission from the Queen. When he did it around Brexit, it was ruled illegal. If he tried it now, there would be a constitutional crisis. The Queen pretty much does what she is asked as she is ceremonial really, but I cannot see her dissolving parliament for this.

HannahSternDefoe · 06/07/2022 17:21

36 resignations...

I suspect he pissed her off with that.
I doubt she'd be available to him to do that again...

Yes.😆 And he refused to rule it out at the committee today.🤣🤣🤣

Hang on in there Boris mate. You've got this.✊️

OP watch above clip. I think you’ll quickly conclude that he is gripping on because he is an arrogant and deluded buffoon.

CPL593H · 06/07/2022 17:31

Obviously Sunak and Javid have orchestrated what they're doing. I imagine it has been planned for a while, but they've waited until another opportunity presented itself so they didn't have to look actively disloyal and power seeking. It being Boris, this arose very quickly.

If you look at what a lot of people think are a better calibre of Tory to the current shower, Michael Howard sacked him because of lies and more recently, has been calling on him to resign for the last fortnight at least. Rory Stewart has been denouncing him for a long time, again in large part because lies. Neither of them have anything personal to gain by him going, which is perhaps an indicator of disinterested truth telling.

It will be fascinating to see how long he holds on, but he will have to go now. Writing on the wall.

torfa · 06/07/2022 17:36

He idolises Churchill and wants his legacy to be that he's revered as the "covid PM" the way Churchill is revered as the "WWII PM"

I can't see how he can hang on but I can't seem him voluntarily going either.

I know one thing, no matter how shitty my next shitty day at work is, at least it wont be as shitty as 6th July 2022 has been for Boris Johnson. I mean this is the absolute pinnacle of a shit day at work 😂
