Am I naive to think Boris PM knows something we don’t know?

Exactly that! The man is being shamed, people are resigning left right and centre (no pun intended). Am I thinking Boris out of possible concern for the country knows something we don’t know and wonders if he is actually the best of a bad bunch?

or is he so egotistical, so consumed by his own worth that he actually hasn’t got a clue!

I’m trying to work out why he’s clinging on for dear life!

The British public voted for Brexit. Many voted for Lib Dem based on them absolutely against tuition fees. They sold out to have a chunk of power. They're all the same in the end which is why I'm hating how Boris is being hung to dry. They're all messed up and greedy.

Well, around 37% of the British electorate voted for Brexit. If you include the whole of the British public, the percentage is even lower. And it's clear that that proportion would plummet if the referendum were to be rerun today, not least because Boris managed to kill off a hefty chunk of his older supporters.

I agree that none of this reflects any credit on the Tory party, and I hope the electorate doesn't let that drop when Tory candidates turn up on their doorstep asking for their votes.

AmaryIlis · 06/07/2022 20:20

I'm tempted to go round to the Cummings residence. I bet there's a hell of a party going on there right now.

Whitehorsegirl · 06/07/2022 20:20

This is just the most bizarre post...

He is a deranged, power-hungry narcissistic sociopath who only cares about himself and does not have a shred of integrity.

That 's why he is not resigning.

No need for the conspiracy theory.

itsgettingweird · 06/07/2022 20:25

Bizarre that you are still holding tuition fees over the Lib Dems despite them being a junior partner in a coalition government but you still back Boris despite the broken Brexit promises.

Yes the uni fees thing really does show how much the Tory's have governed on blaming faults elsewhere.

Also shows how's thick some people are when it comes to politics and why we are probably where we are.

How the fuck can people still think a minority coalition partner can be the ones who get something through?

It's mind boggling

It's your second point - he's a sociopathic narcissist, probably believing that all these resignations are against him as the victim, and will try to cling on for as long as possible. He's a smart, very dangerous man.

THIS ^

He doesn't like not being in charge, or being told what he must do.

This situation won't upset him - it will infuriate him.

Like Hitler, he would rather drag the country into destruction rather than give in.

He's a narcissist - and a very dangerous one.

GoldenSongbird · 06/07/2022 20:33

The premise of your OP made me laugh so much - thanks! Grin

As if BJ is some principled defender, standing between the people, the country and some disaster that only he can protect us from ... racks brain to think of something that would make a venal liar with no principles our perfect saviour Hmm

Is it that some female alien overlord is going to attack and Boris is the only man who'd offer her a job (blow or paid)?

Nah, if Boris is ever the answer (except to which MP has denied their paternity the most) then the question is wrong.

Hrpuffnstuff1 · 06/07/2022 20:36

The Brexit scenario has nothing to do with Boris.

What the delayers didn't realize at the he time is, covid was lying in wait. Double whammy covid economic shut down, change in market partners.
Well done remainders, bloody idiots.

Remainers.

LondonJax · 06/07/2022 20:46

So Remainers, who as you said @Hrpuffnstuff1, didn't realise that Covid was lying in wait, are bloody idiots. But Boris, who completely messed up the negotiations had nothing to do with the Brexit scenario. This was the man who 'didn't realise that the Brexit bus message about the NHS was wrong and a lie' - so who's the idiot?

ilovemydogandmrobama2 · 06/07/2022 20:46

He thinks he's the President - allegedly keeps mentioning that he has a mandate.

He absolutely doesn't.

Yes they are.
The vote was also to leave, then we had yrs of subversion.
Swiss cheese effect.
If anyone thinks with Boris gone the economy will bounce back you're deluded.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 06/07/2022 21:06

The Remainers who were never in a position to subvert Brexit are being blamed for the big fat flop that is Brexit. Even though it was blindly obvious that Brexit would be a big fat flop.

Brexiters do nothing but moan and blame other people. I've never met a more boring lot.

Cry some more.

Hrpuffnstuff1 · 06/07/2022 21:13

The Brexit economic effects cannot be separated from the covid effect yet.
I'm not crying I don't vote.

It's the other way around - Johnson doesn't realise that he is a deluded egotistical lying twat.

PollenHigh · 06/07/2022 21:25

Gove sacked, hours after telling Boris to go.

This implosion is the best!

SunflowerGardens · 06/07/2022 21:29

I think somebody has something on Johnson. Like he has to stay as PM to make sure the votes go in the favour of some big corporation or shady bunch, or else he faces dire consequences.

There's plenty of evidence if you're prepared to accept it (I know many have a cult like view of Brexit).

Putting up trade barriers with the worlds largest trading block that accounts for 24% of the entire worlds GDP was always going to trash the economy. It's not rocket science.

CanaryShoulderedThorn · 06/07/2022 21:31

He is behaving more and more like Trump by the day.
Is there a point at which someone can be forcibly removed? Surely there are systems in place to prevent a sociopathic lunatic from destroying society?

@user29 let us leave someone who I think has issues of low self-esteem out of it.

Tou think Princess Nutnuts has low self esteem, i don't think so!! 😁

MisterMist · 06/07/2022 21:43

Why oh why can't we get a sensible, perceptive, intelligent person to be PM, someone just like the OP!

LizzieW1969 · 06/07/2022 21:54

One thing he really hasn’t grasped is that the 2019 election win wasn’t so much a vote for him personally as a vote against Corbyn and a vote for Brexit.

He never was all that popular with the wider electorate outside his own adoring fan base. (He isn’t all that different from Corbyn in that way ironically.)

Octomore · 06/07/2022 22:06

I absolutely loathe Boris and the Tory party in general but I’m finding this absolutely cringeworthy to watch to the point I could almost feel sorry for BJ. Now Priti apparently has turned against him. It shows many in the party have no morals whatsoever. If they cared about the integrity of the gov. They’d have resigned months (if not years ago). It was always known BJ was unfit for the role of PM but they’re happy to ride the wave of utter shit whilst they benefit. Rats scurrying the lot of them. How anyone would vote for any of these people is completely beyond me.

I agree with this. The ministers resigning today are doing so out of pure self interest.

Much as it is entertaining to watch the Tory party attack each other, it makes me despair of what politics in this country has become.
