Maya Forstater WON. We should all breathe a sigh of relief. And organisations hr departments need to ensure they no longer discriminate for recognising biological reality. What a brilliant day for women.

Out of interest, since we are now in a world where truth matters over feeling - Misogyny isn't a legal hate crime.

Can I now make misogynystic statements left right and centre, then? is that OK?

Theeyeballsinthesky · 06/07/2022 16:59

Lol beauty and you almost had us convinced on the pronouns thread that you really just wanted compromise from all sides

but the mask has well & truly slipped here

Such rage against a woman whose 'crime' is believing in a material reality that sex is real and that men who identify as women are not women.

It's attitudes like yours that make Maya brave. She is brave. She knows full well that this could impact on her future employability but went ahead and claimed anyway because the impact on women, not just in the UK but ultimately globally is so important, We need to have to be able to talk about the fact that we are not the same as transwomen and have separate needs and require separate protections at law from ALL males including transwomen. That's not bigoted. Maya deserves her victory. It's simply common sense, human's can't change sex. She shouldn't have lost her job for speaking the truth.

But as another poster has said you are entitled to hold different beliefs we just don't have to capitulate to them.

No, but apparently we all have to capitulate to transphobia cause Maya said so.

I hope it does impact on her future employability.

She should have lost her job, and the pay out is a disgrace.

legaltigger · 06/07/2022 17:00

I am so bloody pleased !!!!

Norma27 · 06/07/2022 17:01

Look at the rage from those who are upset by biological truth. Women are standing up for their rights. And winning. Deal with it. @beautyisthefaceisee

Course you can. As I explained on the other thread, the reason that mysogyny is not a hate crime is that it happens so much that the police just would never ever do anything else. So crack on, we are well used to it. If that is what you feel you must do.

I do want compromise.

Could you tell me where in OP's posts to be she is happy to compromise?

Where is the compromise in this situation?

My mask hasn't slipped.

If it was a trans person celebrating hurting women I'd be exactly the same.

But thanks for the input.

Norma27 · 06/07/2022 17:05

@beautyisthefaceisee carry on raging. Biological truth matters, and now we can say the truth. Maya is a hero, and I doubt she has to worry about work again.

Beauty, it was a huge error for Stonewall et al to build their just mission to improve the lot of transpeople on the basis of gender ideology.

Asking for the needs of a group of people to be accommodated on the basis of a fundamental untruth (that people can change sex) created an inevitable crash course of sex based rights with the new demands for gender based rights.

It also sets conditions that many people simply cannot accept. The fight for gay rights was won over time, by winning hearts and minds and showing that equal rights for gay people was totally just and had zero negative consequences for others.

Agreeing to new rights based on gender ideology means me and my daughters lose the right to have single sex spaces. Even worse, i am told i have to accept the fantasy that people can change sex. I cannot agree to laws built on such shaky foundations. I will not concede to that precedent being set. Laws need to be based as far as possible in material reality, not subjective thoughts and feelings.

We need to find another way to ensure trans people can lives their lives safely and peacefully. The starting point for this cannot be that there is no difference between transwomen and women.

Yawn.

So you won't campaign about the fact police apparently 'ignore' misogyny but you'll be up in arms about some woman you dont know getting paid for getting sacked (Which she should have done, if only for bringing her company into disrepute).

Amazing.

Poppycock we just no men are never women, no matter how much they wish it to be so and we know we need to safeguard women and girls against all males regardless of their gender presentation.

I hope it does impact on her future employability.

You don't think that people who don't believe humans can change sex should have the right to work? That's not rational you know?

lifeturnsonadime · 06/07/2022 17:08

The fact you think "accepting the fantasy that people can change sex" is worse than your daughter having single sex spaces is utterly batshit.

Nobody is interested in trans people and their lives - OP certainly isn't. She would if it was her child though. Bullies like that usually do change the goalposts to suit.

lospolloshermanosass · 06/07/2022 17:09

@beautyisthefaceisee do you believe people can change sex?

And do you believe that all it takes to be a woman is to say that you're a woman?

I think anyone who makes transphobic statements publicly should be out, yes (and before anyone tells me she 'left a leaflet on her desk' I was neutral until I read her disgusting, smug statement.

"Men are never women" what about transmen? Nobody on MN gives a shit about them because it's all about "me". Maya is the epitomy of that.

AlisonDonut · 06/07/2022 17:10

How on earth do you know what I have or haven't campaigned for? I've spent my whole working life in male dominated jobs making openings for women...you go on one course and you think you know everything.

Plus, she just left one leaflet on her desk. If you are that scared of leaflets...perhaps you need to go have a little lie down.

Aye and I'm the Pope. you really are naive if you believe that.

What is this "one course" you keep harking back to? Because i mentioned a training course I did? I'm 30 ffs, I didn't start working at 29 and a half and do one training course.

No, you appear to have comprehension issues, I said you are entitled to your own opinion.

(After she bizarrely called me an MRA, which appears to have nothing to do with anything).

Well I kind of agree with OP, if you don't know you're an MRA you're certainly doing their bidding because you wish ill on a woman for stating that she believes that transwomen are not women and there are circumstances in law that women need safeguarding from ALL males no matter their gender identity.

But carry on, you are really showing your hatred of women well on this thread. Anyone unsure of their stance on this is probably getting a clear idea of what trans ideology really means to women. You effectively said that you don't think that people who do not believe humans can change sex should have the right to work.

lospolloshermanosass · 06/07/2022 17:14

@beautyisthefaceisee

Not the point .My issue is not with her views.

So you have no issue with her view that biological sex does indeed matter?

Norma27 · 06/07/2022 17:14

Ha ha @beautyisthefaceisee you can hurl all the insults at me you want. I will just laugh at your rage even more.
