Made me go weak at the knees and I can’t stop thinking about it. Fairly confident I am the only woman in the country who feels like this and I should probably refer myself for some kind of aversion therapy.

Before Wednesday I had the same Raab is a wanker opinions as the rest of you. Sorry, I just needed to tell someone.

He doesn't appear very bright tbh ... Raaab just seems to be one of those who drifted through Uni

That's right just drifted through Oxford and Cambridge. As you do. No real work necessary to graduate from either of those crummy universities.

For some reason I can't now recall, I looked him up the other week and was surprised to see he's got a master's in law. He's always struck me as really rather dim, but I'd be surprised (and disappointed) if it was possible for someone dim to blag their way to a master's from Cambridge.

I can't bear the man and imo he has eyes like a psychopath. He gives me the heebies. And the wink was pathetic, disrespectful and sexist imo. He wouldn't have winked at a male opposition MP.

WimpoleHat · 02/07/2022 08:24

I knew I'd hit peak lockdown when I developed a crush on Dominic Raab.

😂😂😂😂

This is without a doubt the most depraved thing I have ever read on Mumsnet.

This? To each their own, of course, but is it this that you're all taking about?

No way comparable to the Brando Eyeroll Confused

I still remember half of MN drooling over Matt Hancock

This I will never understand. He could be a saint sent straight down from heaven, there isn't a sexy bone in his body. Shiver.

Chill. I neither find him attractive nor pleasant, don't vote Tory but find this thread amusing. It's not the first of its kind either. Hide the thread if it disgusts you so much.

There are much, much worse threads allowed to stand on here.

Ok I read up to 'reported' when I hit reply before reading 'joke' I apologise

To be fair to Matt Hancock, he hadn't been in the health secretary ministerial role that long when covid hit us all so I think a lot of it on here was more pity than anything else ( at first anyway ) because he looked scared and a bit lost and had the likes of Piers Morgan etc giving him grief.
Over time we learnt that he wasn't as vulnerable as it might have appeared, but he did gainer a bit of sympathy because of what was happening and how unprecedented it was.

SharpLily · 02/07/2022 13:33

The Matt Hancock lust is a whole other level of weird. I can't get on board with that.

An old boyfriend used to wink at me and it always made me feel 'festive'.

He'd do it when we were out and about, and I'd always say 'drink up, let's go'.

I still miss him, sometimes...

Footbal · 02/07/2022 13:47

I love a wink, I find it very sexy and cheeky 😉

Momicrone · 02/07/2022 14:08

I love a wink, but not from a condescending twat trying to make a point

FungalNail · 02/07/2022 23:14

Why is it I’m thinking of Dominic Cummings winking ..

FungalNail · 02/07/2022 23:14

Not his winky 😫

MrsClarkandPercy · 02/07/2022 23:16

Dominic Raab is very sexy. He looks so clean. I like that. A lot.

If he was just someone's husband from school, he would be sexy. Wouldn't he?

MrsClarkandPercy · 02/07/2022 23:17

Is aversion therapy having to have Dominic Raab wink at you a lot? I think I need it too. OMG. I really do.

HintofVintagePink · 02/07/2022 23:27

I secretly wanted to post this days ago.
what is wrong with me!!?!

Mercurial123 · 03/07/2022 05:48

No.

Sharrowgirl · 03/07/2022 07:03

I don’t mind Raab, mostly because I’ve heard him answer a question with a straight ‘yes’ and ‘no’ which is unusual for a politician. He’s not your typical Tory toff either.

I liked the wink and I didn’t find it patronising or sexist. I think he was saying it’s not personal, it’s all part of the sparring.

Sharrowgirl · 03/07/2022 07:03

yes!

MoneyTreePose · 03/07/2022 07:06

In real life though men can make themselves unattractive with their sexist views, their personality, their sexism, so the ''if he were your friend's husband'' comparison doesn't mean you'd know him less. You'd probably know more.

Sharrowgirl · 03/07/2022 07:09

Too many people in Britain prefer a lie-in to hard work.

Nothing offensive about that. You may not agree with it but it’s a valid opinion that many would.

Cornettoninja · 03/07/2022 07:11

Class kink huh?

Winking isn’t a friendly ‘just politics’ gesture. There’s no way he would have done that to a man standing opposite him in the HoP.

MoneyTreePose · 03/07/2022 07:15

Having replayed the wink on youtube, it looked like, This isn't personal, we're still good, but brace yourself, Wink I'm coming for you''.

I saw that they had some kind of relationship outside of the debate and in that context, his wink was a bit of a people pleasing gesture. I'm gonna take you down but it's not personal.

Being in Ireland i don't know the context of his sexism and his views but gather they're terrible, but, in that one clip, from body language, it seemed to say ''I went for you there but don't hate me for it, love me love me I love the love'' .
