I was just wondering why we're not allowed to post about this case-the deletion message mentioned it was ongoing so wouldnt be fair to the family

Charlie gards case was on going and there was numerous threads about it

Anyway if this stands maybe we can discuss

Regardless of the outcome, very sad that this is happening and a child is unable to live a long life and become an adult.

I agree about grief tourism, tasteless in the extreme. I remember the hoards of people who came to visit Cromwell Street in Gloucester when the murders by Fred and Rose West were discovered.

BalloonsAndWhistles · 19/07/2022 20:36

Unbelievably sad but I feel the judge has made the right decision. It’s no life for the poor boy. I can only imagine the pain they must be in though ❤️

Aye @XenoBitch

Someone linked a renowned neurooncology surgeon from Barcelona who they think the family should contact - cue lots of "worth a try!" type comments.

I'm sure he's fantastic at his job, but archie doesn't need surgery nor does he have a brain tumour. It's just maddening.

I wonder if Archie's mum never gets pissed off at the daft suggestions Confused

SunflowerGardens · 19/07/2022 21:12

'Someone suggested a medium. I wont be surprised if a medium gets in touch and claims to already be in touch with Archie.'

Some divine healing charlatan has been in touch

Crazycatlady83 · 19/07/2022 21:45

I don't know much about mediums, arent they people that make contact with the dead? Surely if a medium made contact with Archie, that would kind of confirm that he is dead?

I don't know why I'm trying to make sense of some of these suggestions made by AA......

IfIHadAHeart · 19/07/2022 21:50

It’s all very bizarre and upsetting but the worst bit is that this circus affords no dignity whatsoever to the poor boy at the centre of it. Absolutely awful.

I’m quite sure guilt is a factor, and I am sympathetic, but it needs to stop.

Really? FFS.

Part of me hopes someone sets up a fake account claiming to be a medium and tells mum that Archie has been in touch and is waiting to go to the light.

Runnerbeansflower · 19/07/2022 22:45

The appeal judge listed in their published judgement everything that was being done to Archie's body in hospital just to prevent further deterioration. He has 1:1 (sometimes 2:1) nursing 24/7, with numerous daily adjustments to medication.

It was fairly horrifying. He has already gone.

I'm only surprised it took so long ...

I suspect Hollie will try to keep things going with attempts to sue the hospital and its unfortunate staff. With any luck she won't get anywhere, because I doubt that the Christian Legal Centre would bankroll that (not least because of the risk that they could be ordered to pay costs if or when she loses) and I very much doubt she would find a lawyer willing to take on the claim on a no win no fee basis.

I believe that Alfie’s father tried to sue 3 doctors, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Hollie followed suit.

And hourly blood tests (and numerous blood transfusions..... feels like such a waste of already scarce blood products.)

I don't know how she can continue to put him through all this trauma :( at least he has no idea what is going on and feels no pain. Still totally undignified though.

Yes, and the people saying they have had dreams about Archie, or that they want to visit the hospital and hug and kiss him. The tattoos are insane. It makes you wonder if there are people out their with a arm full of ink of kid's names that they have seen on the news.
Some of the suggestions given to his mum have been utterly batshit with some bordering on dangerous. Putting his fingers in soil, health supplement enemas, putting food into his mouth etc
Someone suggested a medium. I wont be surprised if a medium gets in touch and claims to already be in touch with Archie.

The whole story started of as sad, and now it is just getting weirder, and it feels like we are watching someone have a very public mental breakdown.

It's them being also encouraged to have his photo as their profile picture that seems odd..and the suggestions of this person or that person. And the party everyone is going to have when he wakes. Some people must be taking the piss cause not sure what Doctor Phill can do...

Toddlerteaplease · 20/07/2022 13:59

Why would you want to hug and kiss a child you don't know. So wrong!

Quia · 20/07/2022 18:14

The Court listing for tomorrow's Court of Appeal hearing shows that it is in fact an application for permission to appeal, with the appeal to follow if permission is granted.

So when Hollie Dance posted that "thumbs up" rather gloating video, she was ahead of herself in saying they had got their appeal. All that had happened was that a hearing had been listed for the application for permission. I'll assume that she didn't understand that, but if so it is a pity that the Christian Legal Centre didn't explain it properly to her.

What’s your feeling about which way it’ll go?

whynotwhatknot · 20/07/2022 19:57

the latest interview has made all the supporters worse now its she knows shes his mum hes squeezed her hand so he must be alive any mother would do the same
if she spent less time doing interviews and wating time she could be with her son and possibly not miss if anything happened to him

noones reading the report its all mum knows she would feel it if he was gone

Hopefully someone in the Judiciary will say that enough is enough. She's running serious risk if not being with him, when he finally does go into cardiac arrest.

No idea what the appeal grounds are. I suspect they will give permission to appeal, because in end of life cases they bend over backwards to give every chance. However, I would think they will uphold Hayden's decision - he seems to have been very careful about spelling out his reasoning and the facts supporting it.

mumwon · 20/07/2022 20:14

if someone is only total life support bp goes up & down (apparently) and can have a muscles spasm
the poor woman is seeing what she wants to believe. I suspect she feels guilty (& I don't mean she did anything wrong but imagine if - god forbid- you are in the house & your child does this, this emotion has got to be part of how you react)

That's it and surely it'd be more traumatic that way. Least with a date and time those who need to be there can. Know from sounds if goes against her beliefs but if he isn't going to get better and wake up then its a kindness

x2boys · 20/07/2022 20:41

I think one of their argument is Archies " religious beliefs " surely if they had any kind of beliefs then the kindest thing would be to let him pass and "be in heaven" if that's their beleif ?

whynotwhatknot · 20/07/2022 21:22

if you believed in god like the jehovah witnesses do there wouldnt be any intervention whatsoever

i dont understand the argment shes giving of theres no dignity in turning the machine off
