To ask is my DD the only Promzilla?

My DD appears to be getting in a real state about her forthcoming prom, organising everyone to go and pay homage to her on 'her' big night, and throwing her toys out of the pram if anyone puts any slight obstacle in the way of her 'perfect' night.
You'd think she was planning a wedding, not just a night out.
I know that it's an important 'right of passage' these days, but I'm beginning to wonder if it's all worth it, if it causes this much anxiety.
Are all the girls like this?
Do any of the boys get in this state?
I bet they don't, I bet they just put their suit on, brush their hair and off they go, so why do the girls get in such a state, or is it just my DD?

@Watapalava sadly you are correct, and it's not just teenagers who don't care about sensible actions given Covid 19.

Covid 19 is not the reason why I think proms should be consigned to history though.

To be honest mrs as a parent who has prom next week there isn’t a cat in hells chance of me testing my kid

testing is not advised do you realise that? I understand if he’s I’ll then he can’t go but why on earth are people still actively testing their kids and spoiling their plans when we are told not to? It’s not necessary anymore - there is no way any of dds and ds mates would miss prom for covid

You think I pinned a 16 year old boy down and randomly shoved a swab up his nose?Yes, he's ill, with barn door Covid symptoms. But given he has vulnerable family members he wanted to be sure so he chose to test.Is that ok with you??
Not that I should be justifying myself. DS is perfectly capable of identifying that he likely has Covid, deciding whether or not he wants to test himself and then making his own decision on what he thinks is right to do in the circumstances.

Plague dog 🙈😂 embarrassed for you

Those vulnerable family members who are 4x vax?

But if supporting my son's decision not to deliberately take this, or indeed any, infectious disease into a large social setting that he agrees is pretty trivial anyway makes me a "shit parent" in your eyes, then so be it. I'm quite happy with my parenting abilities and, more importantly, so are my children.
