Fuming at this guy in the supermarket

I was in the supermarket this evening and I went to pick up a bottle of fabric conditioner. It was from a good brand and very cheap on offer. A big bottle for a cheap price. It was also the last one of that particular fragrance on the shelf. As I reached out to take it from the shelf, I had almost got it when a guy came by the side of me and grabbed it. He then went over to a girl who I presume was his girlfriend and gave it to her. Presumably, she has asked him to get it for her. I was absolutely fuming. I picked my jaw up off the floor said 'You fucking cunt' and walked off.

I’d be annoyed too but your reaction was outweighed what he did, horrible thing to call someone anyway. Bet he will be joking about the crazy fabric conditioner woman for ages.

Because my hand was approx 2cm away from the bottle and I was about to take it. He could very clearly see that.

I was reaching for it at normal speed. He quickly grabbed it when my hand was 2cm away from the bottle ready to take it off the shelf.

It was a cunt's trick, so I don't think you were wrong per se...I also don't think it's encumbent on women to be nice when men behave like selfish twats towards them. The C word does send a good proportion of MNers running for the smelling salts though, so you're bound to get a mixed response here!

Was it a really slow-motion reach?

Or maybe he was reaching for it and you didn’t notice - why are you more entitled to it than him? You must have been reaching awfully slowly if he had time to notice and consciously decide to grab it first. Unless you’re going to drip feed that you’re disabled with very slow arm movements and he sprinted the length of the aisle to push you out the way then I think you’re being rude and ridiculous. At worst he was discourteous- you were aggressive and very rude.
