Winner's podium of an 'inclusive' 'women's' cycling race.
Biological woman is third.

I agree with everything that has been said on this thread - men should NOT be able to compete in womens sport under any guise. It’s fucking ludicrous and boils
my piss. But how can you tell by looking at this picture they are men? On my iPhone, I can make the pic out, and it looks like 2 women kissing…..I’ve even checked for a penis bulge and can’t see anything. Do I need to open on a laptop?!

Smileyaxolotl1 · 04/06/2022 17:46

Firstly while I am very GC at least with this race it was very clear on the entry requirements/categories that it was very pro trans and that female people were going to be screwed over so sensible women would have steered clear.
secondly as it has been discussed on this thread the categorisation was by self declaration so if a male person identifies as a women and identifies as being a similar speed to a women then he went in that race.

I don’t feel strongly about this one as it is a random competition which virtue signalled itself very clearly It’s if it starts to spread as a concept that will be an issue.

I'm looking at this pic and then looking at the comments and o have no idea what you're on about. One has a baby in their hands and the other competitors ( 1+2 ) are congratulating each other. , I'm pretty certain that a moment before or after this pic they were congratulating no 3 too

Competitors 1 and 2 are biological males identifying as females and competing in the female category.

Bridges was claiming in only the last week that they could prove they have no advantage over women. What an absolute load of BS. As we knew it was

Re-name the ‘Lightning’ category the “Lying’ category and it sounds about right

No different to drug cheats

@jacintaq you’re not sure what’s wrong with men competing in women’s races?

It's an inclusive race. The woman in third was presumably knew she could be competing against transwomen and still chose to take part. If she is happy with it, why are you so angry - it's not on her behalf, is it?

itsgettingweird · 04/06/2022 18:14

Thanks.

Interesting as well that Emily is a scholar in sports.

Like Lia Thomas the biological male swimmer who competes in the female category.

I find it quite worrying as well that biological men are getting scholarships to train and compete as woman.

A) surely there are men better than them who could have had the scholarship if they need to compete against females for it to be "fair" and b) I hope these aren't scholarships for woman being given to trans woman - this further eroding biological woman out of sport.

And most importantly - how does winning gold in a biological man's race at university then qualify you for being equal to a 'cis' woman physically as was required in the thunder lightning cycle race?

It's like the rules change to suit 🤔

If they were being truly inclusive there wouldn't be any categories at all.

But then emily and lily wouldn't get their medals.

I only saw legs while the picture was opening and saw mens legs.

If it’s an “inclusive” race that’s fine. You know you’ll know you will be up against biological men who identify their as women. If it’s a woman’s race it’s bollocks.
If you have no choice as a women to be in an inclusive race, that’s also bollocks.

FrippEnos · 04/06/2022 18:31

glamosaurus
I'd love to see those blokes compete against other blokes

Emily was still competing against men until a few months ago and was not only competitive but was part of a 'male' team setting records.

Funnily enough they only started to transition once their funding on the GB team stopped.

Agree with PPs. Can I just say, though, that I think most men are just as horrified by this as we are? DH and DS both work in sport and they are equally concerned at the impact this is having on women and girls' sport – they see it at grassroots level as well as elite, where girls are starting to wonder what is the point in competing. We are sacrificing women and girls' sport on the alter of some notion of needing to be 'fair'.

What sorts of things are they doing to express their support for women?

Microwaveableteapot · 04/06/2022 15:51

Pretty big drip feed there, any reason you elected to remove all context OP? 🤔

Even if Jo Smith was furious about this she wouldn't dare say so. I'm quite sure she can do without the rape and death threats and if she has any sponsorship she would lose it for expressing anything other than absolute delight about cheaters participating in the race.

I doubt she has the funds for the kind of security JK Rowling can afford and wouldn't want to risk violent activists doxing her and putting her family at risk.

But yeah, sure, she was really proud to be cheated out of first place.

I wonder if holding her child on the podium was making a subtle statement.

Yes, inclusive should be just that, rather than everyone except biological men.

NotMeekNotObedient · 04/06/2022 18:49

Absolutely pointless biological women taking part now.

Redouble · 04/06/2022 18:53

Also thinking about the true 2nd and 3rd place winners (Jo clearly 1st) who didn't even get to the podium.

So unfair.

WellThatsMeScrewed · 04/06/2022 18:55

For all those saying that it was clearly an ‘inclusive race’ can’t you see what damage that does? Just the message that any woman only race is exclusive rather than fair.

This race should be called a mixed category race. Simple, a third space where whoever wants to compete can. No one would be objecting to that.

Perfectlystill · 04/06/2022 18:58

Fucking he'll that depresses me

Googlecanthelpme · 04/06/2022 19:00

It’s absolutely batshit what is going on with Womens sports (and the wider world of course) and I have no time for biological men competing within female spaces however on this occasion it was an “inclusive” race so anyone signing up would be fully aware that men would be competing as well. So anyone with an issue with this could choose not to compete and women happy with the distinct disadvantage they would have, could go ahead and compete.
we have been saying that there needs to be a third category and I guess this is what it is “mens” “womens” “inclusive” (the inclusive is open to both male and female)

but that does require the female race to be female. That’s the crux isn’t it - they’re not after an inclusive open space, they’re after the womens space - and when I say “they” I mean the fucktards who deny basic biology which determines that biological males are inherently capable of being stronger / faster than biological females.

Yes good point - not inclusive but “open / mixed” is better

Agree.

Mens and inclusive still excludes woman.

It includes all males though. Those good enough to compete as males and those who aren't good enough to compete as males to identify as female.

Those born as female sex. What about them?

Look at the size of the limbs compared to Jo's.
