When I last looked on Twitter, the delightful Dan Wootton was doubling down on the UK ruling and crowing about it, even in the face of all the evidence in the US court.

There are some people that believe her that could literally be shown a video of her beating him up and still insist she never touched him.

That's true, he's not denied anything else, he didn't deny the horrid texts calling her a "waste of a cum guzzler" and saying he hopes karma takes the gift of breath from her etc so it is odd that is he denying these ones (like you say it must be because he didn't send them)

What did you think of the evidence suggesting that JDs finger was not cut off by a glass bottle and the fact he was caught out admitting there was a phone in the bar area of the house? Do you think that just means AH cut his finger off a different way- hence the apologies and hysterical crying or he did cut it off himself?

Lets keep the discussion back on point about JD and AH and avoid sharing personal stories, attacking other posters and misunderstandings as to what feminism and misogyny actually are.

My god what a horrible thread. This isn’t ‘fun’, it shouldn’t be a spectacle or a circus. Bloody hell. I heard someone on another thread say their daughter had been hit by a boy at school - and when she responded he said “Don’t be an Amber Heard”. The social media/gutter press surrounding this domestic abuse trial is absolutely disgusting and you lot seem to be wallowing in it.

Miscfeminista has had it clear that she does not believe that men can ever be vicimts. That as men have more power in society, they are always the abuser.

Yep, that's come across as clear in the posts from MF. It's a ridiculous viewpoint and one I would never say to my son growing up.

It's really turned a bit nasty - I'm interested in the trial but I don't like some of the mudslinging and insinuations. I've really struggled with social media in the last year, and started editing or deleting posts I make that maybe were harsh or I'll thought out. I know you can't really do that here.

It has become very unpleasant. There are one or two posters who have really changed the tone from what was a reasonably good discussion.

I think I found the detox account particularly harrowing. Surely the definition of a narcissist is someone who fully believes themself to be capable of taking control of a situation of which they have zero experience, knowledge or training of, and further refusing to consult a person who is experienced, knowledgeable and trained in it. Just awful. 😞

The jurors are in a horrible position, some will be identifiable to family and friends just because of the length. I wouldn’t say a word as there is clearly some pretty disturbing people on both sides who have no problem with harassment. I hope the get some warning and help.

I wanted to talk about the case partly because I was horrified by what was coming up on TikTok without me looking for it. I've unfollowed women in there who previously did funny skits and now recreate Ambers testimony for the lolz. I still struggle with the accepted narrative of 'all the lies she's told' and how Depp fans will give him a pass for anything. Maybe if the pro Depp stuff wasn't so weird, the anti Amber stuff would not be so aggressive.

What's happening today then? Any more witnesses or is it closing statements?

Plenty of evidence she was asking for help from his medical team and was following instructions they gave her very carefully. JD now claims it was her who insisted on being there, she says it was the other way round. His texts/ emails afterwards tell a very different story to the one he's telling now.

It is very common. In the vast majority of cases it is experienced by women and is perpetrated by men.

The amount of women that come to Mumsnet seeking support for domestic abuse, I would have hoped there would be more empathy and consideration - rather than treating this trial as gleeful gossip, sensationalism and ‘fun’.

wondering If Amber lost the Deuters texts and other evidence because she didn’t have her phone to hand over for verification. The majority of texts provided have been from Depp. Neumeister confirmed she didn’t have her devices.

I think it was hearsay issues because he isn't testifying? I tried to follow but they came close to it twice and both times couldn't.

I believe AH can call rebuttal witnesses for her counter claim. Then I think there's some legal arguments on what teams want the jury to strike, consider and evidence.

I think you're right.
Just from what I've observed, they can only show the text messages of the person who is testifying.

For example, if it is JD testifying, you only see JD texts. The person who he is messaging; thier messages are blacked out (or "redacted")

So I think if they want to show Deuters text messages, he needs to testify. And he hasn't.

AH team are trying many ways to get Deuters messages shown, but the judge is not allowing it.

i don’t recall Ambers own texts being shown regarding Deuters whereas Depps have been shown just the replies removed.
