For some people there seems to be moral distress in accepting that women lie and lie about big things. Maybe there is some solidarity - kind of the thin blue line thing where you protect your own no matter what. Most people don't have that same moral distress about accepting that men lie about big things.
I also think there is moral distress about not #BelievingAllWomen. There has been so much focus the last few years on this that people feel wrong or dirty or sexist to not believe a woman.
You add to that everyone's own personal and professional life experiecing and views are shaped and skewed by that.
It is hard to go against what you want to believe or have been taught to believe or feel societal pressure to believe.
The same is true for the jury though - they are just representative of the population, although this one seems a little skewed towards Asian males. Even in the face of fact and evidence, people's personal feelings will sometimes be stronger if it is something they feel very convicted about. We see this on these threads - in the midst of all the noise on opinion related issues, people refute actual facts and evidence. It is human nature.
