My dd has been accused of bullying on her sports team. My DH is manager of the team. We have been told that she has been calling another team member names. Our DD denies it,the other parents are adamant she has said these things and have reported the issue to the club. I don't know what to do. My DD she hasn't said anything.

I think at 11 there's a fine line between learning and making mistakes at that age with homophobic slurs and bants etc.

I personally think most 11 year olds these days know exactly what they're saying compared to e.g. me at that age - although I knew what homosexuality was then.

The parents are the ones who should nip this in the bud and the daughter knows what she has said is bad because her best friend won't defend her. It's now that, unfortunately, yes, there should be repercussions if you say/do something which isn't on. I mean this girl has known since she was young that you can't e.g. hit someone without good reason, speaks to her parents properly etc so this is just another layer to it. It is down to the parents to enforce this and carry it on/through.
