Would you let parents know if their dd14 was posting rude photos

Dd14 is friends with another girl who is 14 and has a boyfriend.

she posted on her Instagram story yesterday of her in the shower with her bf, both clearly naked. He’s holding her boobs.

would you tell her parents? I would want to know if my daughter was posting stuff I think

I'd make sure her parents were aware.

Blinkingbatshit · 16/05/2022 17:38

Yes. I really really hope someone would tell me ASAP.

GarlicGnocchi · 16/05/2022 17:39

Yes

Lulu1919 · 16/05/2022 17:39

Yes
TELL THEM ASAP please

Binjob118 · 16/05/2022 17:39

Yes.

Amdone123 · 16/05/2022 17:40

Yes.

DingDongBellPussysInTheWell · 16/05/2022 17:40

Agree, asap!

titchy · 16/05/2022 17:40

You have to ask Hmm

ABrotherWhoLooksLikeHellMugYou · 16/05/2022 17:40

That's legally child pornography, surely. You need to tell them.

YellowHighHeels · 16/05/2022 17:41

Yes but just tell them, don't screenshot and send it. You don't want to risk getting in hot water for sending an image of underage children.

HollowTalk · 16/05/2022 17:41

I would tell them but I would also report it to Instagram as they are under age

Slavetolove · 16/05/2022 17:41

My daughter would disown me. She and my husband thinks I should keep my nose out and that her parents probably know because she tells them everything..

School might be a better way forward. As it's a safeguarding thing + you don't know how parents will react, your DD get the blame.

FourEyesGood · 16/05/2022 17:43

Those aren’t ‘rude photos’. They’re indecent and illegal images of children and YOU can get into trouble just for having seen them (I know this sounds alarmist, but it’s what I hear every year when we have our training at school on this matter). Inform the parents and the school (and the police may get involved).

AngelinaFangelina · 16/05/2022 17:43

Absolutely. I would want to know if I was the parent of either teen.
I would phone if possible and not text, this kind of thing needs saying in person. Don't screenshot the photo.

nearlyspringyay · 16/05/2022 17:43

I doubt very much she's telling her parents she's posting naked selfies. Tell the school.

Nanny0gg · 16/05/2022 17:43

My daughter would disown me. She and my husband thinks I should keep my nose out and that her parents probably know because she tells them everything..

She'll disown you till she needs something.

Her 'friend' is posting child pornography and her age isn't a mitigating circumstance.

I'd tell her parents and I'd have a look at the CEOPS site if I were you too.

oioimatey · 16/05/2022 17:43

Absolutely tell the parents. 14! But if you're worried about your daughter being upset then tell the school so they can chat to the parents on an anonymous tip off

MRex · 16/05/2022 17:46

I would report to the police as they are underage, let the police follow up on any and all child protection needs.

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 16/05/2022 17:47

In a heartbeat and I'd expect to be told if it were my child. Not wanting to get involved is not an option when it comes to safeguarding.

IRunbecauseILikeCake · 16/05/2022 17:49

I would agree with tell the school. Just in case her parents are aware and aren't taking it seriously

FuchsAndMöhr · 16/05/2022 17:52

Absolutely. And I’d want to know if it were my child too (child being the operative word here)

jackstini · 16/05/2022 17:53

Report to the police and school
It's illegal and they need to know

Guessing more people than just your Dd will have seen it so the police don't have to tell parents or daughter where it came from so your daughter never has to know it's you

Rogue1001MNer · 16/05/2022 17:53

Why tell the school? It didn't happen there. And you can't send them pictures or you'd be distributing child pornography. So for them it would just be heresy.
They'll become involved, of course.

But the people to report to are the police, SS, CEOPS (a specialist branch of the police)

Smartsub · 16/05/2022 17:57

Didn't a senior police officer lose her job for simply looking at a similar image sent to her by a concerned relative?

Of course it needs to be reported
