Yes, a thread about a thread so sorry about that, but not one intended to make any poster who feels bad about her looks feel worse, the total opposite.
When I read this statement fairly regularly I think no no no no no, you have elevated him and relegated yourself. He's not as good looking to the rest of the world as he is to you, and you're not as unattractive as you think you are, you're just running yourself down.

It is eye catchingly rare to see an extremely handsome man with an unattractive woman, so if you tell us that you're really unattractive but your DH is very attractive, I don't think you're being objective.

I agree that if baldness affected women, there would be huge pressure on women to do something about it.

In fact, I think it would be used as 'evidence' that men age so much better than women.

But as things are, the fact that men suffer from baldness and women very rarely do, is ignored. We're still told that men 'age better' and that women love bald men. As if!

So why are men who wear wigs laughed at.😂😂

I think this hair fetish is overplayed.

Men in wigs are laughed at when the wig is obvious, which looks worse than a shaved head.
Its no more a fetish to prefer men with hair and consider them far better and younger looking, than it is for a man to say he prefers a woman with a pretty face. It's just pretty obvious really. Men think it's overplayed because of the great myth that it's equally attractive, which we go along with to spare their feelings.

Because worrying about your looks is somehow considered unmanly. That's for the birds.

And I hardly think expressing a preference for men with hair is a 'fetish'.

Do you think it's because Hollywood/the media show so many images of the (well preserved) older man/gorgeous young woman trope that we're fooled into believing it?

Yes- hit the nail on the head right here! Remember the film entrapment with Sean Connery (age 70 at the time) and Catherine Zeta Jones (age 30 at the time) as his love interest? that would NEVER happen the other way around- its pure patriarchal misogyny.

Also re: bald men- they can be very attractive. I only watch the fast and the furious to see Vin Diesel in a vest. Also: Jason Statham and Morris Chestnut are hot AF, but they do take very good care of themselves, work out and look good. They havent just allowed themselves to go to seed and then just assume they have a right to any woman they see.
