This new site sucks

Hey Mumsnet, this new version of the site sucks. I’m sick of having to log in every time I want to do anything, I’m sick of it not updating so I’m having to trawl for new threads. When I do find anything, I can’t read it properly? But I can’t find any information from you about what’s going on, or when it’ll be fixed?

You can change the colour of your own posts in your account settings, just like you could before.

The look of the new site is growing on me. The adverts aren’t so intrusive. I’m on my iPad mini and have had few technical issues. Not had to keep logging in - I did click the “keep me logged in” button. It’s fine on my Google phone too, doesn’t look that much different. One annoyance though is the Threads I’m on page. You can’t click on and go to an individual post.

It's crashed twice on me this morning. Also the "I'm on" takes me to the first page, which is annoying, I want the last page like before, or wherever I last read up to if someone wants to be clever.

This is what I'm finding too. Functioned much better before. Its also a lot slower.

I like the layout and everything is working fine for me. The only thing I don't like is the harsh white background. It hurts my eyes.

I have Most Active saved as a bookmark as there are always the most interesting and fast-moving threads on there. However since the update the list contains tons of random threads, many with 0 replies. Totally pointless now as most of those are about very niche topics and even if you reply nobody will respond. Might as well visit any other dead forum now if I want to partake in threads with less than 5 replies.

you can. You have to click on the > to the right of the post rather than the post itself (which is stupid really)

Not keen on the new look, but then I still had mine set to the Classic format, so it's a huge change. And where the heck is the Advanced Search option just for the chat board. Grr!

I am finding it hard to get used to the fact that 9/10 threads I want to look at, having arduously located them on the new dis-improved 'search' function give me an error 500 message, over and over, despite the error message saying gaily to check back again in a few minutes.

The “Accept Cookie content” thing that I have to click on literally EVERY TIME I click on anything is driving me mad!!!

It makes the entire site unusable.

Honestly if this were my tech team they would have been sacked by now.

The glitch’s here aren’t teething problems, they’ve essentially put out a beta platform.

The more threads on this the better. This could do MN an incredible amount of harm when the tabloids start reporting on how mumsnet is driving away users with their new site which nobody seemingly had any input into. And before anyone says that there were opportunities to test it, there are also plenty of posts on here from users who tested it who said that they stopped because there was never any response to any feedback they gave.

So maybe it’s time to start de-registering, and tweeting the tabloids.

MN love it when the DM pick up juicy threads and bring them nice revenue, maybe it’s time they were on the receiving end…

Just tried to read half a dozen threads on chat, and got the same error 500 message. It really is a shit show. Did the work experience kids cobble this together?

I'm having issues with it, and find it harder to read than the old site, but I'm going to give it some time to see if things improve, either with me or with MNHQ.

oh yawn. What actually sucks are the people who dont appear to be able to grasp the concept that whilst something works for them on their platforms, it really doesn't for others.
