Last week it was my friends birthday and I organised a night away.
I paid for everything coach /hotel etc as it was her birthday.
The coach was a early 6 am coach.
I live 5 min (if that ) drive from coach station and a 15 min walk away.
I had to leave the house at 5.30 am to walk there and grab a coffee from greggs.
She got a lift from her husband.

That morning I woke up and it was chucking it down and cold.
I tried to get a taxi but no luck.
I text her saying the time I was leaving and that I couldn't get a taxi.
Her response
"Oh no your gonna get soaked,we are leaving soon, see you there"

Aibu to think she could of easily picked me up?
Literally 3-4 mins from town so would only have added less than 10 mins altogether.
I arrived soaked

When you met your friend, did she comment on how wet you looked? If so, what did you reply?

Maybe her husband didn’t want to go out of his way?

Or she assumed you had an umbrella and raincoat?

She should definitely have offered but maybe she didn't have time? I wouldn't give myself lots of spare time that early. Also don't you have a coat and boots? What I would have done is worn a coat and umbrella and boots and brought a chance of trousers in case my bottoms got wet. I've done plenty of dog walks in the rain and don't get soaked. I don't understand why an adult, with presumably clothes to cater for the rain because we live in the UK would get soaked because of rain. My teens get soaked because teens don't wear appropriate clothing but adults don't.

Your cue to ask was when your friend replied that you were going to get wet. Literally a response of: I know it’s last minute but any chance you can swing by and get me please?
