trib.al/ov5g0nj I can’t stand the throes but agree with this

Hear, hear! I agree with Boris.

Whelmed · 06/04/2022 18:10

Tories won the last vote because of Brexit and the next vote because of this. That's why I don't think any of the other stuff, party gate, corruption, sleaze etc ultimately matter. Or the current cost of living crisis.

AtrociousCircumstance · 06/04/2022 18:15

Labour have completely betrayed women and it’s disastrous. For them and for all of us. They have made themselves unelectable.

Pointles · 06/04/2022 18:17

@somewhereoverthechipshop

I do too. He’s an arse and I am not a conservative voter and never have been...however I’m relieved someone had the balls to say it.
It's not balls. He knows which way the wind is blowing. That's all. He's always been good at that. Remember Brexit?

I don't necessarily disagree with him on this topic but I disagree that he actually cares about women or anything that isn't Boris.

Callipygion · 06/04/2022 18:20

You are aware Boris Johnson is a habitual liar aren’t you. I wouldn’t believe a word that that man utters, he probably really thinks the opposite but is just saying what he thinks you want to hear to put HIMSELF in a good light.

noworklifebalance · 06/04/2022 18:22

YANBU and it’s totally confused me about how to vote if he keeps this stance for the next election. Shrewd political move

somewhereoverthechipshop · 06/04/2022 18:24

@Pointles agree, all he cares about is himself, and none of this excuses the way the conservatives treat the poor of this country, I will never support any of their other policies..and yet, whatever his reasons, he is still taking a gamble to come out and say this, due to the massive backlash this will provoke from trans rights activists. I wish Kier Starmer could have done the same.

Wam90 · 06/04/2022 18:24

I agree too!

EthelTheAardvark · 06/04/2022 18:24

The trouble is we know he'll do a complete about-turn tomorrow if it suits his personal agenda.

somewhereoverthechipshop · 06/04/2022 18:25

and for that reason I still think it takes some balls. More people should be standing up and pointing out these quite reasonable points.

UnshakenNeedsStirring · 06/04/2022 18:27

Never thought ID say this but I finally like what he said and I agree with him

lakeswimmer · 06/04/2022 18:28

@ZaZathecat

There are more important issues at stake in the next election though, like not leaving the poor and vulnerable to starve.
The problem is that if a politician is unable to articulate what a woman is, I don't trust them sort that out either.
Bonheurdupasse · 06/04/2022 18:28

Yes, agree also.

Shardonneigghhh · 06/04/2022 18:29

Boris is using you. We all know he doesn't actually care about people don't we? He just wants your vote.

picklemewalnuts · 06/04/2022 18:31

I agree with him, for the simple reason that he's right. It's not a tricky one, this, for all some people seem to be making it so.

I don't believe he's saying it just to appeal to the MN vote- that's hilarious. He's saying it, because it's self evidently true and the wazzocks that tie themselves in knots admiring the emperor's new clothes are just that- wazzocks.

The little boy that pointed out the emperor's nakedness was not a genius.

100% this. You're deluded if you actually trust or believe him on anything.
somewhereoverthechipshop · 06/04/2022 18:35

Don’t trust him, just want someone, anyone in power to come out and say this! As a poster said before it’s like the emperor’s new clothes, nobody wants to point out the obvious! Wish it had been someone I respected that said it, but it isn’t. Still glad it was said though.

Blossomtoes · 06/04/2022 18:36

He’s doing it to appeal to the feminist vote. It’s so bloody transparent and I despair when I see women falling for it. This feminist isn’t for turning Tory.

StormzyinaTCup · 06/04/2022 18:36

He just wants your vote.

And Labour quite clearly don’t. If they are happy to play to the 2% rather than the 50% then politics (and maths) are not their strong point and they won’t win elections and currently don’t deserve to either.

lakeswimmer · 06/04/2022 18:36

Well he's more savvy than Keir then who clearly doesn't.
Mumofsend · 06/04/2022 18:37

I do too. Although I dislike that he is clearly targeting this as an election boosting thing.

Agree. Not sure why a party clearly not wanting my vote as a woman is a good thing.

The cynic in me says it’s because they know it’s the only way they can win the next election.

I sent a letter, an actual letter! To Labour saying they will lose 51% of the vote. I don’t want to vote Tory, but I can’t vote to lose womens rights.

TraceyLacey · 06/04/2022 18:42

I think that's the clearest thing he's ever said! Bravo.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 06/04/2022 18:44

I hate the man but I agree with this statement
