trib.al/ov5g0nj I can’t stand the throes but agree with this

@Callipygion

You are aware Boris Johnson is a habitual liar aren’t you. I wouldn’t believe a word that that man utters, he probably really thinks the opposite but is just saying what he thinks you want to hear to put HIMSELF in a good light.
You’ve literally just described Starmer
WeCouldBeSpearows · 06/04/2022 18:58

@ParsleySageRosemary

Johnson is famously the kind of man who sees which way the wind is blowing and then runs out in front shouting “follow me”.

Well, Labour? Got any intelligence left to try and understand the issues in play?

Exactly this.

He's had a run of bad publicity. And here he is saying something that might gain him votes, despite the fact that he is a hypocrite of immense magnitude.

Why now? Well, there are council elections coming up...

Annette32123 · 06/04/2022 18:58

@CompassPoint

What about women who are incarcerated in prison?

Yes, absolutely Dinosauria, they are some of the most vulnerable and voiceless of all in society, and keeping womens' prisons single sex is utterly crucial to their safety, health and dignity.

Exactly. And they don’t even get to vote.

The poor can seek help to get food. Women in prison cannot protect themselves from men. So this is more important.

LexMitior · 06/04/2022 18:59

Seriously judge Johnson on what he does - he's in charge of the country. I couldn't care less about Starmer. He isn't.

LampLighter414 · 06/04/2022 19:00

I don't agree with Boris

Rainbowshit · 06/04/2022 19:00

He's absolutely right. I will be voting Tory unless the other parties see sense.

fishonabicycle · 06/04/2022 19:00

First time I've agreed with the floppy haired mendacious twat.

Blossomtoes · 06/04/2022 19:01

@Mackerson

He's literally had this written on a bit of paper for* him to say... And will he actually do anything? Because that's what a useful politician does, not just a headline grabber.

But isn't it more likely that he will do something than Starmer who refuses to even read the piece of paper?

Of course it isn’t. Look at the man’s record. Trusting Johnson with women’s rights is like having Herod babysit your sons.
LexMitior · 06/04/2022 19:02

If this were a relationship people would post that a woman needs to set a better standard for herself and that this comment sets a ridiculously low bar. Johnson has said the bare minimum that is reasonable, but since he's done naff all about it, I think its fair to say its just his usual wiffle.

Phobiaphobic · 06/04/2022 19:03

Boris has no allegiance to any particular ideology, therefore it's much easier for him to see the bloody obvious.

Compared to the ridiculously low bar set by bearded woke bros, I'll welcome this wiffle with open arms.
GroggyLegs · 06/04/2022 19:08

Boris and I agree on many, many things.

Water is wet.
On a clear day, the sky us blue.
The earth is round.
Male bodies don't belong in female sport.

The man's a clown, but thank fuck someone more grown up than Boris has made the decision to say what the vast majority of us absolutely know, but can't voice.

I'm only pissed off that predictably it was sport that made someone finally speak out, not women's prisons.

LexMitior · 06/04/2022 19:08

@Phobiaphobic - its an unbelievably low standard to set, and while its a reasonable journalistic thing to say, it is notable that there is no proposal as he is the PM to deal with this issue. He is not some sort of sensible party guest. He can actually make laws. Its so telling there is not more. Thus, low order stuff.

Turningpurple · 06/04/2022 19:12

So the choice at the next election will be labour who want to fuck over women. And its not a small issue. Its not ONE issue. I would be voting for female sports to be decimated. Female dreams and ambitions broken. To put females at risk. To put females in a position where they can't get support from female only spaces when they have been raped, beaten and abused. I would be voting in agreement that my daughter, a young lesibian, can be abused and called a bigot and ejected from LGB spaces because she doesn't want to have sex with someone with a penis. I would be voting that it's OM to our female prisoners at risk. It goes on forever.

Or I can vote tory, who screw over people like my disabled partner.

What a choice I have.

Franklin12 · 06/04/2022 19:13

So do some think that Boris thinks the complete opposite? I really don’t think so. He is the voice of reason, however the lefties are still clinging on to the view that somehow, sometime, somewhere they will be in power.

Somehow I don’t think that will happen. They have made complete tits of themselves with no where to back out.

Westchesterarms · 06/04/2022 19:13

@LexMitior
Talk is very cheap.He's PM. Not a spectator, so what's he actually going to do?

He's already cancelled the ban on trans conversion therapy. And he's suffered the resignation of his chief LGBT advisor. He's got the threat of the boycott of the big LGBT global conference the govt set up which is a blow to his prestige. And he now faces persistant attacks from a very vocally militant pressure group. So he does sound committed so far.
On the other hand Starmer attacks him for what he's saying/doing. So out of the two of them, who is most likely to deliver for women?

AllOfUsAreDead · 06/04/2022 19:13

He will win the next election easily because of this. Even though he is right, he doesn't deserve to win.

Blossomtoes · 06/04/2022 19:13

That comment leads me to think you’re not a recent Tory convert.

Forfar4 · 06/04/2022 19:13

I'm a lifelong Labour voter and I agree with Boris too on this issue. Blush

Georgyporky · 06/04/2022 19:14

I never thought I would agree with a nasty bastard like him

Absolutely this. It's not being bothered about 'trans people using the loos'. It's so much more and people aren't getting this.

How can anyone deny a woman the right to access a rape crisis centre accessed only by biological women? HOW?

BlessedByTheShitFairy · 06/04/2022 19:16

Strange.
Only a few weeks ago you all thought he was a compulsive liar who didn't care a shite for anyone, let alone women.

How times change.

These are all things his party nurtured and supported. Their policies. They get zero credit until there is actual proposal to sort out the mess that has occured with trans policy.

Slow hand clap for a guy who agrees his own party policy is a mess. Well done. Really low order stuff.

HesterShaw1 · 06/04/2022 19:17

I've just got very cross with the LibDems and their party political broadcast. It was focussed on education it showed so much understanding of what we have been banging on about for two years. They said they're a party who listens and they'd have my vote every day of the week

So why the fuck don't they listen to women's concerns about the "transwomen are women" concerns? Why is it down to Boris fucking Johnson to speak sense in the issue?

😡

dottydodah · 06/04/2022 19:17

well done to Boris! At last a leader who knows what a woman is .This is just common sense surely .Women need to race against one another on an even playing field .For sure we need women only spaces too
