trib.al/ov5g0nj I can’t stand the throes but agree with this

It's not an original thought emanating from Johnson. More appropriate to say Johnson agrees with most of the population - now that's a first!

Dinosauria · 06/04/2022 17:27

@TheWayTheLightFalls

Well, if anyone’s going to know what a woman is it’s our esteemed prime minister.
I do wonder if here lies his true reason.
AtrociousCircumstance · 06/04/2022 17:29

Have always hated the Tories.

But I agree with Boris and thank god someone in politics is beginning to stand up for women’s rights.

I was a life long Labour voter before Labour betrayed women. And Lib Dems are just as bad.

ParsleySageRosemary · 06/04/2022 17:29

Johnson is famously the kind of man who sees which way the wind is blowing and then runs out in front shouting “follow me”.

Well, Labour? Got any intelligence left to try and understand the issues in play?

CatBumJuice · 06/04/2022 17:30

Yep me too, and it feels very odd. Still can't vote for him though...

MarshaBradyo · 06/04/2022 17:31

95% yanbu

There’s a first

Lockheart · 06/04/2022 17:32

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Still not voting for the Tories.

RobertsRadio · 06/04/2022 17:32

Well tickle my tits till Friday! No fudging the issue there. Fantastic.

Mummyoflittledragon · 06/04/2022 17:32

Yanbu
Not sure in the next GE whether to vote Tory or spoil my ballot with ‘labour losing women’. In a Tory stronghold so a spoiled ballot may make the most impact.

hamstersarse · 06/04/2022 17:34

After a lifetime of voting left, I voted Conservative at the last election.

It's weird, once you see the 'common sense approach' which is much slated by the left you can't unsee it

Dogknowsbest · 06/04/2022 17:36

I partly agree with him. Definitely no men in female sports.

Having spent time in family changing rooms with small kids and half naked men around, I'm not sure I understand why women get hung up on "maintaining female only spaces". I'm sure any transgender person would be feeling equally vulnerable if not more. And more to the point, where should they be changing if the only option is binary?. As women, I feel we should be sympathetic to transgender people.

ilovebencooper · 06/04/2022 17:37

Cannot bear Boris. But I will vote Conservative if Labour and Lib Dems can't get a handle on this issue. I've never done voted Conservative before in my life but this is the issue for me. Safety of women and girls comes first.

Pyri · 06/04/2022 17:38

Yes it’s frightening

First the Daily Mail

Now Boris

Just need Piers Morgan to pop his odious little head up to say something we agree with and it will be a full house

Lockheart · 06/04/2022 17:38

I hope people don't turn a blind eye to Boris' rampant misogyny as they fall over to praise him for trotting out the right mantra.

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/04/2022 17:40

Johnson is a shameless populist opportunist. He would be full-on "TWAW" if he thought there were votes in it. However, he realises that there aren't and he's right. People are waking up to this nonsense.

I'm also pretty sure he's never been in any doubt as to what a woman is.

I've always voted Labour but feel I can no longer do so.

Respect my sex if you want my X

Charles11 · 06/04/2022 17:41

So do I. It’s good to hear it spoken about openly and confidently, especially from the current government.

Staffy1 · 06/04/2022 17:42

Is it a mumsnet requirement to hate the conservatives and the daily mail with every fibre of your being and announce it at every opportunity?

PuppyPowerTool · 06/04/2022 17:43

I feel sick to agree!

Pyri · 06/04/2022 17:43

Yes

Along with competitive undereating, using vast amounts of bleach and declaring everything “vile” and “grim”.

Very disconcerting but I agree with him too.

MrsAvocet · 06/04/2022 17:45

Much as it galls me to admit to having the same views on anything as that man....I agree.

tkwal · 06/04/2022 17:46

So good to hear sense coming from someone in this debate.

Noisyprat · 06/04/2022 17:46

I'm glad he made the comment about Gillick. I actually think there are many other areas where this is trotted out where it shouldn't be.

I just hope they don't U turn under pressure. The Tories need to hold their nerve and come out with clear statements on this.

ZaZathecat · 06/04/2022 17:47

There are more important issues at stake in the next election though, like not leaving the poor and vulnerable to starve.
