Mrs Hinch showing off house renovations

First off, I'd like to say yes I am a bit jealous as I really wish I wasn't worrying and stressing about the increasing heating bills etc. but seeing Mrs Hinch showing off the full downstairs underfloor heating she's having fitted just now is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. I'm having a late lunch having some soup and wrapped in a hoodie AND a hoodie blanket as I've had to switch off my heating during the day to save money and keep it at bare minimum in the evenings.

I just feel she should be a bit mindful that loads of her followers might be feeling a bit crap about it with the increase in bills etc.

Don't get me wrong, it's great she can afford to do it and her new house is lovely, but I just think she should be thinking twice about posting updates of all the expensive work she's having done! I have since muted her stories so I can't see them lol!

I'm also curious to know how much the full mutual in Rons room cost lol!

YABU - get a grip, the energy bills crisis is not that big a deal

YANBU - she should maybe think twice before posting.

She's made her millions flogging unnecessary shite to people who can ill afford it. Along with every other leech-like influencer. I can't believe people take any of the crud such people spout in good faith.

Moonface123 · 30/03/2022 16:08

Who the hell cares?
l pay no attention to people like this they don' t interest me one bit.
Their whole attitude is look what l got, its so boring.

Snally82 · 30/03/2022 16:09

YABU. Everyone has different circumstances

GoodJanetBadJanet · 30/03/2022 16:09

Why the bloody hell should she?!
I'm sorry, but if you don't like following or she makes you feel bad or jealous, that's on you, not her.
Nothing wrong with her documenting her life.
I'm completely skint, house a mess and desperately needs doing up, but I can still love watching her stories and daydream Smile
(As an aside HOW cute are the alpacas?! 😍😁)

D0lphine · 30/03/2022 16:11

YABU

If you don't like her contact just block her and subscribe to people who are more relatable.

Also why should she hide her success? Being successful and rich isn't a moral failing!

GoodJanetBadJanet · 30/03/2022 16:11

Why do you follow someone like that, can't imagine being in the least bit interested tbh esp if it makes you feel worse.

Exactly, I'll never understand so called '' hate followers'''

SafelySoftly · 30/03/2022 16:12

YABU!!

You’re following her home account not the cleaning one. And yes this smacks of jealousy 🙄

DontLookBackInAnger1 · 30/03/2022 16:15

YANBU.

And this is why I HATE social media. Surrounded by people who seemingly have more things, better things, more successful, better relationships, better holidays, more happy etc etc.

It's all bull though.

I bet she's getting paid by the firm to have it done and broadcast it. Or it's been given for free. Whenever I see social media people I cringe tbh. They're not my kind of people. I find it quite unethical and extremely fake and harmful for society. So I don't envy them, even though I occasionally get a pang of jealousy.

I hope you manage to weather the storm of increasing bills ok, you definitely aren't the only one worrying and making cut backs x

LaurieFairyCake · 30/03/2022 16:15

I don't use Instagram and I don't know any influencer

I loathe the whole shebang - none of it looks like a real job Confused

I have to disagree with this - Mrs Hinch has failed to show her moral compass multiple times - such as in her plagiarism and taking advantage of vulnerable, impressionable people recommending products she is PAID to advertise and not declaring ads.
TabithaTittlemouse · 30/03/2022 16:18

Surely that’s like saying no one should post holiday photos because some people can’t go on holiday.
Shouldn’t post photos of their nice cars because you drive a banger.

Stop looking if it causes upset.

GoodJanetBadJanet · 30/03/2022 16:18

she is PAID to advertise and not declaring ads
She does declare posts as ads though Confused
It'll say ad or paid partnership in capital letters in the top corner of her story for example if it's something she's advertising
(No I'm not her before anyone says lol)

Strawberry33 · 30/03/2022 16:20

She the most YAWN 🥱 person on the planet.
Couldn’t imagine following her in the first place. What’s the point her getting a new house for starters- we all can predict exactly how it will look (more grey and mirrors and boring).
As for being in bad taste what do we expect when we are responsible for creating these people in the first place.

So ...... Don't follow her? End of.

Celebrities have always been out of touch with how most people live - this isn't anything new.

The difference now is that a larger proportion of society is feeling worried about money, so a larger proportion of people are looking at the celebrities they follow on Instagram etc. and realising how unattainable the lifestyles on display are.

It was always there to be seen, but more people are really seeing it.

How do you know her usual style is grey and mirrors and '' boring '' if you don't follow her 😂🕵️‍♂️
Sounds like you sneak the odd peek at least 😁

BulletTrain · 30/03/2022 16:26

It's not really about "Just unfollow them". One can disagree with paid advertising masquerading as genuine recommendations online at the same time as not following any of these people.

nokidshere · 30/03/2022 16:26

Mrs H has got very rich off the back of a lot of less well off people.

YABVU no one is forced to watch such inane crap just turn it off. She got rich off the back of lots of stupid gullible people.

cherryonthecakes · 30/03/2022 16:27

I just feel she should be a bit mindful that loads of her followers might be feeling a bit crap about it with the increase in bills etc.

I don't follow her but don't her followers follow her because she showcases a fantasy life where money isn't a problem? By calling herself Mrs Hinch, she's pretending to be "normal" but I'm guessing that people follow her because they want to know how the rich and famous live. (I'm thinking of the many recent Insta posts on Khloe Kardashian's pantry)

Kaibashira · 30/03/2022 16:27

YANBU if you ever needed confirmation that social media / influencing is almost 100% about boasting - this is it.

No tact, no compassion, no sensitivity
Just mememememememeeeeeee

Yep. You just put it more bluntly but you're correct. People get sucked into all this rubbish. However did we clean our houses before Mrs H appeared on the scene 🤨🤔
darlingdodo · 30/03/2022 16:30

Strawberry33, no, her new house will be maximalist and full of bright colours so she can tell her fans that this is her new style and shill even more crap to her faithful followers.......

SuitcaseOfWhine · 30/03/2022 16:31

I didn't know who Mrs Hinch was so googled her. She does look like a carbon copy of these 'influencer' types, although to be fair I have only seen a few and don't know their names. It bores me to be honest, they all look the same and so do their homes. It's all filtered and they have hired help anyway.

I have a nice life, but they all have far more materially than me, so I just avoid it all. I find SM such as Facebook and Instagram to be insincere, hysterical and vulgar most of the time. It is just an advertising/propaganda machine. I realised the crap far outweighs any benefits, so don't engage.

The best thing you can do when they put gloaty, out of touch stuff on their feed is unfollow them. They will definitely be watching what they put up and how it affects their numbers, so this might help them make better choices about what they put up in future.

CambsAlways · 30/03/2022 16:32

It’s her job! So of course she’s not going to think about all the people that aren’t as well off as her! That’s how she earns her money! Each to their own! If you are going to get upset by it unfollow
