To think that Kier Starmer is spineless?

LittleWhingingWoman · 29/03/2022 19:06

I'm a long time Labour supporter.
Not anymore.
Kier Starmer was asked if women have penises.
He couldn't answer.

I've had enough of this gaslighting.
How can I vote for a party that is led by this man?
How, in 2022, can a candidate who hopes to be pm not be able to say what a woman is?

AIBU to think he knows FULL WELL what a woman is but is too much of a coward to say. The men threatening and bullying Rosie Duffield certainly know what a woman is.

And I know a penis when I see one.

@Lamerexo

Good question

LittleWhingingWoman · 30/03/2022 00:36

@Lamerexo

Genuine question, so if a woman is only an adult female, would you oppose to the term 'transgender woman' for a trans person or is it just them calling themself "woman' by itself without the trans bit in front that is the problem?
A man who thinks he is a woman is a still a man, but he is one who thinks he is a woman. He may be gay, effeminate, loves feminine expression, loves a bit of glitter and some sequins. Why not. We grew up with Bowie ffs. Most of us were happy to call these people Transwomen before this madness happened.

Or he is one who would love to wear the clothes that he likes to see on women. He might be someone who fetishises wearing those clothes, he might enjoy masturbating in those clothes. He might get an erect penis by wearing womens clothes.

Now... what should we call these men. Are they women?

Do you realise that many Transwomen are this second type?

@BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation

Perhaps they enjoy being in permanent opposition. You get to dick around playing at politics without actually having to make decisions or take any responsibility.

Seems to be the case. I hoped they'd got over that when they got rid if Corbyn

Lol at pp thinking Mumsnet doesn't have threads criticising the government. Have you ever looked at the covid boards? Westminsterenders?

Sorry - so in answer to your question - the woman part is illogical.

If a dog thinks it's a cat - to call it a "ThinkCat" may seem logical.
Is it logical to call the dog a cat though, shout "DOGS ARE CATS" in the street, sexually harass and give death threats to anyone who doesn't think dogs are cats, and then insist on law that dogs are cats?

Don't see what the problem is

DdraigGoch · 30/03/2022 01:08

He sits on the fence for any issue you care to mention. He's supposed to be the Leader of the Opposition but a footballer has done a better job of holding the government to account than him.

DdraigGoch · 30/03/2022 01:15

Angela Rayner today stated that it is degrading to people going through the process of changing their identities to have discussions about genitals.

We don't need to have a discussion. The word "no" is a complete sentence.

"Should males be in women's prisons?"
"No."
"Should males be permitted to attend women's rape crisis group therapy?"
"No."
"Should males be given carte blanche to cheat in sport?"
"No."

You get the idea.

DontBlameMe79 · 30/03/2022 01:21

The trans movement = the most ambitious and successful gaslighting operation in history. Beggars belief where we are. I couldn’t vote for Labour now despite being inclined that way.

jkrfan · 30/03/2022 01:52

YANBU totally spineless or a true believer in 'gender identity ideology'

Read George Orwell's '1984 'to further understand some of the techniques being used on us: “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

Thanks for this post. Also - without having these conversations how can we ensure safeguarding around everything you just mentioned.

@SuitcaseOfWhine

I was expecting a thread on this today due to the Partygate fines being in the news today 🤔
Start one on the fines then, not that most people are arsed anymore. As for starmer, fucking ridiculous.
beatrixpotterspencil · 30/03/2022 03:15

we must keep voting tory because they are champions of equality, progressive values and feminism, lol.

beatrixpotterspencil · 30/03/2022 03:16

agree he's crap though Grin

beatrixpotterspencil · 30/03/2022 03:45

On a serious note, I think Starmer is being a serious ass about this, but to use it as an excuse to keep voting for this corrupt, disgusting government is a tad weak imo.

I have this one, single issue with Starmer.
Yet the sheer ignorance, lying, corruption, law breaking, boundary changing, friend-funding horrors of the current conservatives leaves me utterly cold.
At least consider how many right wing rags have poked this story to the front today, it sure takes one's mind off the covid parties, eh?
You honestly believe these reporters or the tories care one solitary fuck about women's rights or safety?
This is election tactics, plain and simple.

I could slap Starmer, and I strongly disagree with his stance on this issue, but if people can overlook what the tories have done to this country because of it, god help us.

I also heard that the tories are planning to turn away voters without photo ID. Interesting. How people continuously overlook their corruption astounds me.
With the boundary changes and photo ID issue you wont have to worry about an opposition party, we won't really be left with much of a democracy anyway.

I suppose, perhaps, there are things that I find much more terrifying that Starmer being an ass.

beatrixpotterspencil · 30/03/2022 04:39

And before i go, finally Grin

dont forget the plan to scrap the human right's act. Anything they (Patel) can do to 'manage' refugees which has bloody dreadful consequences for us all in the UK. We surely felt this after the policing bill. I am far more worried about the stuff that isn't on the rag front pages.

worth a thought, sadly.

No one is talking about voting Tory. It's not an either/or. It's that if women withdraw or spoil their vote they are not voting Labour. Which means Labour gets less votes. Which means Labour won't get in.

The women who aren't voting Labour aren't suddenly going to become Tory voters. They will exclude from the vote, set up a private Island somewhere and disappear. Like the Ent wives did.

OP posts:
LittleWhingingWoman · 30/03/2022 05:17

It's also not about Starmer being an "ass"

It's about a potential Leader of this country fucking with reality.

It's about women being able to organise as a political class.

It's about your reality as a woman.

LittleWhingingWoman · 30/03/2022 05:25

It's about you, if you are raped by a man, who now says he is a woman, being told that no rape happened and the NHS, The police... saying no rape happened.

No rape happened because no men were here. I'm sorry I can't assist you, our records show that no man was here in the ward last night, you must be mistaken, you are certainly wrong. That's not pain you are feeling because no rape happened. The blood is your period surely?

No rape could have happened because no men are here.

This is happening under a Tory government. Women are not under an illusion that if they vote Tory it won't happen. We are politically homeless UNLESS we decide we will only work cross party with people who are still adults.

This is an absolute non-issue and mumsnet sadly is getting a reputation for being a haven for hysterical transphobes.

This is being used by the conservatives as smokescreen to mask their shameful and disastrous leadership of this country:

brexit was a sham that has flatlined our trade and diminished us on the world stage
millions of children are going hungry in this country due to cruel policies
the prime minister is a security risk who ignores MI6 advice
he also broke the law and partied while people died
double the NHS entire annual budget was chucked away on useless covid decision making

This culture war on woke is literally the only thing the conservatives have to take your attention away from their mess in every area of governance.

Baddit · 30/03/2022 05:43

(And yes I know the thread is about Starmer and that my views won't be well received on here but honestly the obsession about this one narrow issue on here is a bit strange?)
