To think that Kier Starmer is spineless?

LittleWhingingWoman · 29/03/2022 19:06

I'm a long time Labour supporter.
Not anymore.
Kier Starmer was asked if women have penises.
He couldn't answer.

I've had enough of this gaslighting.
How can I vote for a party that is led by this man?
How, in 2022, can a candidate who hopes to be pm not be able to say what a woman is?

AIBU to think he knows FULL WELL what a woman is but is too much of a coward to say. The men threatening and bullying Rosie Duffield certainly know what a woman is.

And I know a penis when I see one.

I think the point about people outside of Twitter hearing him being so fuzzy on this question is really a good one. The whole toxic “gender” debate is a social media driven storm. When Keir puts his views out into the real world where this gender stuff isn’t even a remotely understood he is likely to really start to come apart.

In the real world people think trans = surgery so what is all the fuss about. No one in the real world thinks penis = woman.

LittleWhingingWoman · 29/03/2022 19:32

It's a betrayal not just to women - but to Labour to allow the Tories to get in again because the MAN in charge cannot say what a man is.

Yup, not getting my vote because of this. No thank you.

Riapia · 29/03/2022 19:48

Rayner has said she hopes there’ll be a woman labour leader in the future.
They may already have one and be totally unaware.
Twats.

I am so disappointed by Starmer and Labour on this. However I would also like to see Johnson and other leading Tory MPs and cabinet ministers quizzed on the same issue at every opportunity.

nothingcomestonothing · 29/03/2022 19:59

YANBU, craven cowardice is not what I look for in a potential PM. I mean, being a proven liar isn't top of my list either, but if I have to choose someone, it won't be the bloke too scared to say what we all know is factually true.

Angela Rayner today stated that it is degrading to people going through the process of changing their identities to have discussions about genitals.

And that women should have rights and safe spaces. However under Labour's definition of what a woman is those spaces are mixed sex.

If a person who is changing their gender identity, whatever that means, is so upset by discussions about what a woman is then they need mental health support not affirmation.

I have no idea why the left has become so right wing in its views towards women. Absolutely mental that in 2022 we can't speak the obvious because some men might be upset by it. Absolutely mental that in 2022 that males are the best kind of women (see Pip Bunce, Rachel Levine - recent winners of awards for best women), males can compete as women against women (see Lia Thomas, swimmer and Emily Bridges, cyclist) and male rapists can enter the female prison estate to rape women there (Karen White). There are many many more examples.

While the Labour party throw women under the bridge they are simply unelectable.

We are not a feeling. We are not a bunch of stereotypes. There is no authentic way to be a woman. We just are women, what connects us is our biology.

No wonder Angela Rainer wants the debate off social media. They want to shut us up.

www.spectator.co.uk/article/starmer-won-t-talk-about-sex-and-gender-that-s-a-problem

"...And most important of all, the practical value of those spaces is secondary to the fundamental issue here, which is consent. If some people who don’t have penises want spaces that exclude people who have penises, they should be able to have those spaces. End of story. Because any other outcome is a situation where some people who don’t have penises want to be able to keep people with penises out of their spaces but are not able or permitted to do so. And there are words for a situation where a person without a penis is not allowed to exclude a person with a penis."

Starmer is a lawyer playing a political game. He thinks he’s performing a very clever balancing act. He may as well gift wrap the next election in blue paper with a big fecking bow on it. Fool.

spacehardware · 29/03/2022 20:09

I don't think he wants to win the election

the80sweregreat · 29/03/2022 20:12

He was doing quite well with Nick Ferrari until that question came up : I was cringing inside hearing him trying to think what to say.
It would be interesting to hear what Boris Johnson would say about it but I've never heard him being asked.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 29/03/2022 20:16

Perhaps they enjoy being in permanent opposition. You get to dick around playing at politics without actually having to make decisions or take any responsibility.

spacehardware · 29/03/2022 20:16

Boris Johnson was asked this recently - he said a woman is an adult female

3peassuit · 29/03/2022 20:25

They’ve lost my vote.
If they’re not sure what a woman is they should ask Robert Winston. I’m sure he’s qualified to tell them.

energywavering · 29/03/2022 20:28

Basically the bloke is a complete and utter prick!

@SilverGlitterBaubles I’m fairly certain Boris knows what a woman is, I imagine he knows quite a few Grin

Sunak did no better a couple of days ago - pathetic - just kept repeating 'I agree with what the prime minister said' over and over. Looked a complete idiot

DoubleYouOhEmAyEn · 29/03/2022 20:55

It's absolutely pathetic. He's such a disappointment. Spineless and completely lacking in leadership. He's under a spell.

equuscaballus · 29/03/2022 21:05

Totally spineless - there is no opposition and hasn't been for some years now!

He was asked 'what is a woman' quite a while ago & said basically what he said in the House of Commons - that biology decides.
Sexnotgender · 29/03/2022 21:11

He’s an absolute fucking bellend.

Whatinthelord · 29/03/2022 21:18

Anyone else find it bizarre, but also kind of interesting, that they agree with Boris Johnson for once.

I can’t think of anything else I agree with Johnson on.

billycorn · 29/03/2022 21:26

Can’t stand Keir Starmer or David Lammy, they both live on another planet. I sometimes wonder what on earth has happened to politics. I just hope it doesn’t get any worse. How has it come to this? I WILL NOT BE VOTING LABOUR!
