To think that Kier Starmer is spineless?

LittleWhingingWoman · 29/03/2022 19:06

I'm a long time Labour supporter.
Not anymore.
Kier Starmer was asked if women have penises.
He couldn't answer.

I've had enough of this gaslighting.
How can I vote for a party that is led by this man?
How, in 2022, can a candidate who hopes to be pm not be able to say what a woman is?

AIBU to think he knows FULL WELL what a woman is but is too much of a coward to say. The men threatening and bullying Rosie Duffield certainly know what a woman is.

And I know a penis when I see one.

I was expecting a thread on this today due to the Partygate fines being in the news today 🤔

FOJN · 29/03/2022 21:27

I will not vote for anyone who calls me a bigot when I correctly identify their gaslighting behaviour. He may be comfortable making himself look like a complete idiot but I will not do the same by voting for Labour or any other party who does not think the material reality of biological sex matters.

Itwasntmeright · 29/03/2022 21:27

Absolute spineless joke.

greenlynx · 29/03/2022 21:37

what a woman is is not an opinion, it is a biological fact
^This 100%
I agree with @AgnesNaismith
I’m nearly crying. I can’t bring myself vote Tories, I just can’t. However I would rather believe Boris’s definition of work meeting which was not a party then Stamer’s definition of woman.
Of course he knows what a woman is , I’m sure he’ve seen them before. And I don’t think he’s spineless, I think he has chosen this approach deliberately (which is actually a shame as I liked him).

LOL.

Nice try.

I won't vote Tory either but if you think the Tories breaking covid laws is the equivalent of women's rights being eroded then you are deluded.

This is the issue of our time. This is the issue that impacts us and our daughters and generations to come.

Oh yes accuse everyone of being a tory schill. That'll definitely make women want to vote Labour 🙄
Kreuzberg · 29/03/2022 21:49

Surely a long time labour voter couldn't vote tory just on the basis of one issue ? The whole ideology is different. Why would you consciously vote in a party whose ideals you don't espouse ?

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 29/03/2022 21:50

I's rather stand for election myself at this point than vote Labour, Tory, Lib Dem, Green or SNP etc

OutsideVoice · 29/03/2022 21:50

YANBU
I would love to vote Labour, but as long as they don’t understand what a woman is, and why single sex spaces (NOT single gender) are important, they can get fucked.

loopycurtains · 29/03/2022 21:52

No, I couldn't vote Tory but now I won't vote Labour either.
Kreuzberg · 29/03/2022 21:55

It's like NHS threads, 'labour are crap' threads. Both arise with regular monotony. Rarely any about the current shower of shite in power.
Out of interest most of the crap going on is happening under a tory watch. Women in prison raped by trans women under a tory government no ? Mixed sex toilets ?

Correct but the laws that allowed it was the Legal Fiction which is the GRA which came in under a Labour Government.

They are now determined to entrench that fiction by specifically enabling Self ID.

FOJN · 29/03/2022 21:58

Why would you consciously vote in a party whose ideals you don't espouse ?

I think undermining the hard won rights of 51% of the population can motivate people to teach politicians, who take out votes for granted, a lesson. It's a lesson they sorely need. Not to mention that if the legal meaning of the word woman includes males you will never be able to argue how policies disproportionately disadvantage females and you will never be able to organise to campaign for your rights as women because that category will now include men.

greenlynx · 29/03/2022 22:00

@Kreuzberg
That’s the problem. I can’t vote for Tory but I’ve started thinking how can I vote for Labour if they can’t answer such a simple question. They can’t be in power if they don’t know basic info about life. How did Stamer pass his Science GCSE???

Justanotherlurker · 29/03/2022 22:07

So are you racist if you care about black on black violence? Or are you racist if you don't care about black on black violence?

Pure whataboutism

The team style politics you want to inject into the conversation ignores the fact that this was a simple situation of a labour politicion being asked a question, if you're in a a mindset of Women in prison raped by trans women under a tory government no then you are not really applying any critical thinking to the situation.

I agree too. Such a disappointment. Does Starmer have a daughter ?

PrelateChuckles · 29/03/2022 22:10

Good article here www.spectator.co.uk/article/labour-is-falling-into-the-tim-farron-trap-on-sex-and-gender

About how the constant avoiding of the question will be what finishes him, rather than any actual answer he might give.

Alcoh · 29/03/2022 22:13

His penis is indeed flaccid and gets no vote from me

greenlynx · 29/03/2022 22:15

@SirVixofVixHall
I believe he has a daughter and a son.

TotalRhubarb · 29/03/2022 22:22

He’s an absolute fucking melt. Taking us all for mugs and expecting to get elected while throwing women under the bus. I don’t fucking think so, Keir.

Alcoh · 29/03/2022 22:25

@SuitcaseOfWhine oh gosh. You care more about a fecking party than how we define a woman!

Alcoh · 29/03/2022 22:26

Hmmm a ‘couple of glasses of wine is not a party’ or a ‘penis maketh a woman’

Hmmmmm no contest.

LittleWhingingWoman · 29/03/2022 22:27

There's loads of threads on this across the feminism boards. There's even a couple on the AIBU.
I loathe the Tories.
Right now I loathe Keir Starmer for handing womens rights over to them for another term because the alternative is disgusting.

He has a difficult problem because his activists are woke - but this is losing the Labour party voters. Cant vote for Doris and his incompetent shower, cant vote for a mysogynist Labour Party. For the first time in my life I am planning to write on the ballot paper "none of the above".
